Just replayed this and the cookie under the gate opposite the front door won't frob? I have tried leaning, crouching and can't get it? If I back off and use zoom I can't see it under there.

Hmm, sounds like you aren't close enough to frob it, or the script that is required isn't being loaded. (Which can't be right, Yandros included the scripts.) I remember that if the proper script for the cookies wasn't functioning, you couldn't frob them.

It worked for me, it's way off to the right, so stand near the center of the gate and look right and you should see it. I could frob it easily once I crouched.

They did auto-close, and yes they were annoying which is why I removed them. :D

I guess those never really bothered me much, but now that they're gone I can't say that I'm complaining either.;) (Maybe if you only had to open them once it wouldn't have been an issue. :P )
