disarming the mines from that crate above?
because i tried, leaned forward
to get a mine to hi-light, then extended first one pick then the other, both times
the mine un-hilighted! :p  :erg:
You can
actually run across above them and disarm both from the other side (save prior to that, though).
Garrett's Shadow on 24/10/2009 at 20:13
tried that! :p
took no damage, i wuz f a s t !!! ;)
but dey did go b, b, b, boom!!!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------
there's a small area, at ground level, covered with a grate, there's a statue, a candle and 2 gold candlesticks I WANT!!!

EDIT - NVM - figured it out - 3 nice xtra bits o loooot! :cheeky:
---------------------------------------------------
and Melan - i just don't see how the hell you can disarm those 3 mines from the crate above (from the other room/crawlway) i get as close as i can before falling off and landing on them (and subsequently goin B O O M!), and they still unhighlight as soon as i put an extended lockpick on them, even with L or R leaning or forward leaning! it just don't work man! :nono:
EDIT: speed potion + jump and i am over them - NO BOOM!!! quick disarm and i get 3 new blower uppers! - and the chance to see an area utterly useless to me!!! lolz!!!! :p :laff:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
still huntin for the Highgate key! only bloody thing i found so far on a windowsill in low courts was a bleepin ring!
EDIT: AHA!!!!! gamma up a notch and auto zoom in and I SEE IT! (in the OTHER area of low courts!!) now - to see how to get over dere!
WHEEEEEE! a run and a jump and a FROBFROBFROBFROBFROBFROBFROB (as i slid back down that ferstunkiner slanted roof!!!) and i gots me a highgate key!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
thanx Melan for letting me "deal with Timms as i see fit", i played him totally fair - i just returned his 2 mines to him! - of course since he was'nt the one who planted them this time, they were not exactly "user friendly" towards him when i got him to chase after me! :ebil:  :laff:

now i can't seem to be able to get out this area where i got the highgate key. only way seems to be that nearby ledge i ran off of and i can't mantle back up onto it! :erg:
Melan on 25/10/2009 at 12:30
You should be able to -- climb the ladders until you can, mantle onto the protruding roof with the wooden shingles, then jump to the higher ledge you (presumably) came from.
Garrett's Shadow on 25/10/2009 at 12:55
took a number of tries tho! tricky mantle!
now i am looking and looking and looking all around Coronet, dont see where to stack for the climb to Dopefish! :erg:
thought i had the right spot - ended up just getting a ring and flash bombing a ghost back to deth!
(ghosties and zombies are comingggg out this week!!!!!!!!)
(specially the pop up surprise ones in this mish of yurz!!!lol :cheeky: )
argh, been all around the Coronet, don't see where the Dopefish could be!
(is it anywhere near ("bow upgrade..." and gas arrow)

A great mission, good architecture and a huge map that take time to finish... but... i missed 100 loot :cheeky:. I'm playing in expert, i found the keywell loot, the haunt of the ring, goblets and coins near windowsm the gem in the little garden... all except 100 . What i missed?

Just off the top of my head (it has been a long, long time since I played this one), the following easy to overlook locations come to my mind:
thieves hideout, sinkhole, gem near ruined chest
near the tower of Scarmengades, ring in windowsill over small marketplace
usurer's place, bracelet in a chest behind a painting (this might be only 50 gp, though)
the power station, blue crystal in a room whose door is ajar and blocked, must crawl through vents to access (also 50 gp, but you may have missed two pieces)

I'm giving this mission another run after giving up on it several years ago. Fortunately I'm doing much better now, and have amassed 3647 loot.
However, I'm stuck as I can't find the Armorer's Key. It's propably somewhere in plain sight but I'm still not finding it. Can anyone help?
Melan on 1/5/2010 at 16:32
Unkillable Cat: if you have already broken into the armourer's place, you can find one on the table on the second floor or a window ledge on the top floor
If you need help in getting in:
N/H: Climb up the vines at the the front, lockpick the balcony window and you are in.
N/H/E: Go northwest from the main entrance until you find a ladder (before the square with the "W" house). Climb up, follow ledges until you find a bridge, then get back on the opposing ledge. There is a hatch you can pry open and enter the shop from the rafters. Save before you do that.

Thank you, that did the trick. Forgot to mention that I was playing on Expert and that I had already broken into the armorer's place before.
Finished with only 25 loot unaccounted for, but didn't find every hidden thing around.
The only real "problems" there are with Bad Debts is how hard it is to find the locations of some of the main objectives, and that plot-vital keys are just dropped at convenient locations when needed, just as if you had a ghost helping you out. Otherwise, this is one of the most solid FM's around, and I consider Disorientation (the spiritual successor to Bad Debts) to be the best FM of 2009.
