Thanks yes, I remembered it when I got back there. How did I forget that?
Is this jump really possible? (http://www.fidcal.com/TEMP/badDebts02.jpg) Or the one below it to the lower ledge from say, the sign? I tried for a long time but couldn't make either. In the end I did a full frontal assault and then found these routes from the other direction. Anyway, got the landlord's key but where is his house? Wish I'd marked unpickable doors on the map now.

dead-end block pretty close to where you started the mission. There is a guard station nearby.

Jump: yes, but it is hardish, I can only get it about 1:4. You can get up on that tower from the other direction, however, and this is how: leave the area to the South, through the passage. You will see a bridge over the street. Climb up on the ladder, then hop on the metal roof (this can be a hard jum), then follow the way back to the area with the tower.
The landlord: assuming you have the key, return to the location you started from (i.e. to the Southwest). From here, go south to a large courtyard. Your landlord's apartment will be here.

Mmmm. OK thanks but I thought that courtyard to the south of where I started was the old fortress that was now city watch on the west side and my own apartment on the east side. That apartment is already open. Anyway, I'll scout around that area again and maybe there is another courtyard.

That's the place, but look for a door you haven't opened yet (a purple one).

OK, found it. Now I need just over 400 in loot to finish. But where? There are still some locked doors in the usurer's even though I've got the userer's keys. I've also seen a flaming undead lying in a crypt but can't get to it. Also wrote down two glyphs but no idea what they mean.

The glyphs will not help you obtain loot. There are two locked doors in the usurer's house. One is his store, and the key is under his chair. The other is a design mistake; unfortunately I forgot to make it unfrobbable. Other loot caches... Have you found -
the Thieves' basement? It can be entered from the "W" house - either the chute to the coal cellar or from the apartment above, via the chimney.
If you have, you also have the key to access the place where they are storing their recent take - right next to the usurer's balcony. This place is also an exit from the mission.
The burning undead - if you mean the thing up in a small tower - can be reached by first getting up on the battlements, then jumping down to a small bridge, mantling up and entering the tower.

The 'burning undead' sounds like the sorcerer Scarmengades. Hit him with a water arrow through the bars, then be prepared to run...
The biggest loot cache in the mission is probably the one the Keepers have left in the keywell (the place you reach when you go past the three armed mines). Once you´re in that alley, look high and do some acrobatics.
Also, have you looked on the wooden 'wheel thingy' at the top of the armorer´s spiral staircase?

Thanks. I have been in the thieves' basement and got the thieves' key but can't recall if I used it. Basically I try every key plus lockpicks on every door I find so I've probably done that. I seem to recall gold candlesticks etc which also fits a clue readable.
Never did get into the Keeper thing because I never found any talisman (if that's what it takes.) Not even sure I'd know how to get back there. Was that in the south east abandoned area?
First I'll try the usurer's store key as I know how to get there and killed everyone there so should be easy enough. Then the armorer. I recall the stair and the window but can't remember any loot or wooden wheel.

Thieves' den is reached from the same square that you roped into the usurer´s place from.
Keeper´s place: Take the west exit from Seeing Square upper area with the statues. You do not need any talisman. I just recently managed to run past the mines when I ran straight along the wall to the left side (I don´t remember if I jumped, too). Or you can blow them up.
Gold candlesticks: that sounds like a place you can reach from a bar close to where you can see Scarmengades. Look up inside that building.
