I was enjoying this mission before it went overboard on the you-know-fucking-whats. Do they respawn?

There should be some notes/books in the prison/jail (whatever that building is) that say why and where the amulet was lost. It is exactly where the clues say it was lost. Make sure to explore the area carefully, since I myself accidentally stumbled upon it, bring a flare. :ebil:

Okay, here's one to ponder. In the third mission (I'm playing on expert), there's a room in a warehouse with a healing basin, etc. Also, there's a plaque that says "SITE 0". Now, it lights up, but doesn't do anything until you use a key or lockpick on it. I've tried the Zilich on it, and it makes an unlocking sound, but I never saw any result, at least not in that room.
So is this something I should think about, or should I just try to find something else to keep me busy during the day?
Also: I second the question about the safe in Grindle's office (in the police station) (the second mission). On expert, is there a key for that safe? I thought about searching every dead cop, but with all the undead walking around, it's a daunting thought.
Finally, I'm about 200 short on loot in the third mission. I've found the hidden masks in the Grotto and picked up the odd goblet here and there...am I missing something here? I've been to a couple of warehouses, got into the pawnshop, searched every single body (which made me feel dirty inside), took out the trash and split the atom (boom), but still need ~200 to make the loot goal.
{EDIT - Well, didn't mean to give everything away, but that's what spoiler code is for, I guess. I'll edit out where I think others have answered better than I. I still wonder about the Hand of Glory, too...}

Vigilante - Your questions cover almost the whole mission! I'll give you some clues, but if you read enough of the things you find, you'll get clues to a lot of it.
Vault - [SPOILER]The guard carrying the lantern in the museum is wearing the vault key. If the undead are already there, then search the dead guards' bodies.[/SPOILER]
Amulet - [SPOILER]In the police station, there was a clue about the Amulet having been lost in the canal on the Cathedral grounds. Go and swim down the canal between the Black Die and the Cathedral. Check the bottom VERY carefully.[/SPOILER]
Vampyre Eye - [SPOILER]Look for the Gleeming Facet in Hillcrest Court on the map and check it out.[/SPOILER]
The safe - [SPOILER]Check under the chair for a key. [/SPOILER]
As for the Hand of Glory, Auriga2us, I'll leave that to someone else. I'm just playing Mission 3 now and I haven't found it yet. I don't remember where it was in the beta version, anyways.

Okay, I found the amulet and the Vampyre Eye since that post. How do I combine the eyes and the amulet?

vigilante - [SPOILER]You need to find a spell book that tells you how to reassemble the Amulet. It's also needed as part of the reassembly as well as something else. Look on the shelves in the Cardinal's room in the Cathedral.[/SPOILER]
Silver Sorrow - I'll be interested to see if you get an answer to that first question myself. I couldn't figure out what to do with it, either.
As for the safe [SPOILER]in the beta, you had to steal Mercedes' purse and read the diary. Then you got a new objective to take her diary to the police station and leave it in the office. When you did that, the key appeared. I went to do that this time, but when I got there, the key was already under the desk. I picked it up, put down the purse with the book and the key appeared again under the chair. I was playing on Expert, by the way. [/SPOILER]

How do you steal her purse? Do I need to make her unconsious before I do that, or can this be done without using any weapons on her?:angel:

I waited so long to dowdload this mission ( 26.4 connection speed on my 56 k modem - aaaahh ) , that I played it straight through . Awesome . I love the weather , the detailed sound and lighting , just a general attention to detail and story line . Mercedes is something I never thought I would see out of the dark engine . The MDK style ending was a pleasant surprise . This is the final mission that Thief 2 should have had .:thumb:

Just wait behind her in the room for a bit until she goes off alert status and you can pick it.
