I've been playing through Calendra's Legacy once more, and am continuously astonished by the quality of these missions. We've had a number of excellent FMs in the intervening years, but CL is still the benchmark by which I rate all the other missions - "How close to CL does it get?"

There is something that i wanted to ask long time ago, but never got around to doing. While updating my FM archive i noticed that there are two versions of Calendra's Legacy floating around. The archive that is up at the Keep is called CalendrasLegacy.zip, while the one at thiefmissions is called Calendras_Legacy_v1a.zip. I know that different sites stick to different naming conventions and sometimes rename FM archieves, but this time that does not seem to be the case. Garretloader displays different information on the author fields, has different ratings for these files and does not understand, that CalendrasLegacy.zip is for Thief 2. Also, while both archives contain leftover garbage like empty folders, thumbs.db files and WS_FTP.LOG files, the garbage also seems to be different (in other words, one archive is just not cleaned up, they both contain different garbage). The important files however seem completely identical (file sizes and dates). Does anyone know what's up here?

I don't, but use Calendras_Legacy_v1a.zip, it works 100%, and also, I believe it's the latest version.

I can't remember what I did with the file. I'm certain it's the latest version 1a like the other, but I have have cleaned up "some" of the extra junk in the folder but not all of it, maybe? It's been many years though

what a monster!
this has got to be the largest FM yet!
and if it's half as good as the intro, wow wow!
whoever did Garrett's voice, DAMN good work!!! pretty damn close to Mr. Russel's marvelous timbre, pitch, tone, and pacing! kudos! :thumb:
but i do have to say, i never thought Garrett was such a fool and a CAD!
screwin over a babe who cared about him. he deserves that letter she left him!
(so what if he let her keep the cylix, there's SO much more for him to find and "acquire" in the immediate future!,
so for the profit of a small bit of gold, he has lost the one babe he HAD left! what an idiot!!)

Garrett was voiced by Lonestar, our resident audio hero back in the early Dromed days. Slyfoxx has done some good Garrett lines, but Lonestar was indeed the best

Why was it called "Calendra's Legacy"? Calendra had no mention at all in this mission...Only linking to it was the mention of the Larloch society once and the cylix of Jortul." -Lurox
I can only agree. That's why I consider Act 3 an anticlimax. And Calendra's Legacy.. I don't understand why.

Yeah...Quite a good mission! But I want to know...What's the point of mission 3? Why was it called "Calendra's Legacy"? Calendra had no mention at all in this mission...Only linking to it was the mention of the Larloch society once and the cylix of Jortul.
Well, a legacy is what one leaves behind, and by her manipulating the Larloch Society and arranging for the Cylix to be brought to the town, she has "left behind" an oportunity for further evil to be propigated, That's her "legacy"! ;)

Schwaa - I LOVE Mr Bones. Those guys are fantastic and very scary. Good job! :) (I get a real kick out of backstabbing them and seeing them collapse into a pile of bones. :cheeky: )
um, how do you backstab without a sword? :erg:
and what the heck does NLD stand for?
(oh no ~groan~ it just hit me: "Night of the Living Dead"! ~groan again~ lol)

Where??? Please just tell me!! I've looked everywhere. I think. Now the patrons and staff of the Black Die are after me. I could kill them, but that poor guy lost his cat; that would just be adding insult to injury. The ONLY place I havn't been is the foundry. I intend to do the cylix last. Milk the mission for all it's worth! But it occurs to me I should check there anyway.
...
Stauf - I can't help with where things move to after NLD, because I don't know, but hopefully someone else will be able to give you the info. (And then pass it on to me for my notes? Please?)
As for the purse -
Did you "read" the diary? Just use the purse like you would if it's a scroll, you get to read the diary and you get an objective to take it to the Police station. Hopefully, then it will work the way I said it should.
Thief101 - Are you playing with a patched or unpatched version of T2? From what I've seen in past questions and answers about this, it looks like the problem you are experiencing comes from running CL with the unpatched version of the game. Before you install the patch, make sure you copy the "saves" and "allsaves" folders elsewhere, then drop them back into the game afterwards.
I don't know if you'll have to restart Mission #2 or not to get the objectives to work properly.
dkessler -
I can't tell you where to find the Hand of Glory but I CAN tell you that you don't need it for the Succubus. I just finished this one on Expert and that room is really easy. Just DON'T cross the lines of the pentagram and don't read the smaller book on the table. As long as you stay outside of the lines, you can just walk right in and get what you need.If you read the second book, she will attack, too.
On the third mission, I think I missed a plot line somewhere. I finished the mission, and it made sense AFTER wards, but I think I missed...
The text or explaination how Garrett knew that there was a Keeper compound inside the factory. Was it in the conversation with Mercedes?
