Got my objectives done except I cannot find their hideout. Where is it?
Thanks........
SlyFoxx on 29/8/2004 at 17:17
There are two ways in.
one is the little wood shack outside the warehouse....

switch in the SE corner of the outside area

the other is off the lower passage you find down near the casino office.....you'll need to find a secret switch in a dark moldy covered room about 80 feet from the passage's end.
Found it! Thank you. Great mission. I really enjoyed it. I thought that the room upstairs with the statues that was brightly lit was particularly nice visually. Was there anything to do there or was it just for looks?
SlyFoxx on 29/8/2004 at 20:46
Just for looks. I guess I should have put a loot item up there. :erg:

I've had a bug in my Thief 2 installation that I've been exploiting for some time now. When I pick up some items the game will give me 1000 of them instead of whatever the author designated. It sometimes happens with Health Potions too, I get 1000 health (makes it easier to jump off tall buildings). I haven't really found any pattern to why or when the game will do it, but it can make the game pretty fun when it does.
Oddly enough this mission is the first one I've seen the bug change the loot objectives and such. I found 13,293 out of 22,925 loot... I checked on my other PC (with a normal install) and the objective is less then 1/3 that... Pretty odd huh?
I ended with the following inventory: :erm:
Broad Heads - 3,015
Water Arrows - 12,987
Fire Arrows - 2,998
Gas Arrows - 2,851
Moss Arrows - 9,994
Rope Arrows - 3,993
Flash Bombs - 3,000
Invisibility - 999
Scouting Orbs - 3000
Gas Mines - 2,999
Speed Potions - 2,000
Mines - 1,957
Frogbeast Eggs - 2,000
I actually played this on the other PC first (with the good install) and thought it was a GREAT :thumb: FM. But it's always fun to go back into an FM and do things the author didn't want you to... :ebil:

Just finished this great FM. Congrats SlyFoxx.
Lots of great puzzles.
Sorting out the thieves in their lair was quite a challenge as they are formidable fighters. Gas arrows did it for me. As for the undead, well, bumped off the haunt and let the others wander about while I went off and did something else. When I returned they were well dispersed and it was easy to get the goodies.
Now the
safe in the warehouse, well where is the key? Under the ranp, you said. Well do you mean the wooden canopy that the upstairs is on. I've hunted high and low, moved all the boxes but no key.
Help Pleeeze
Mary. :eww:
right where the ramp and the canopy meet...go under there...there are boxes stacked but I think you can see it without moving them...the key is just about eye level in a little notch in the post.
Many thanks Foxxy dear,
How cunningly that key was hidden.

SlyFoxx,
I just finished this one and its definitely one that I will remember. What I enjoyed the most is that you made this mission "dense". You packed lots of exploring and gameplay into a modest sized area and I love that!
Also, the town had a very warm, cozy feel. I wanted to live there. And as another poster said, the readables were entertaining without being overlong or forced. Everything, even the humor, felt natural.
Finally, I salute you for not totally crippling us at the beginning. I dislike missions that force Garret to start without *any* of his basic equipment. Essentially when the author tries to force you to play to his style. Thank you for leaving how we want to play up to us.
