A drawback I am also finding is that one objective is if we knock out any of the "....City Watch (guys in green)" then the mission fails. I find if I knock out any of the guys in brown, the mission fails also.
They're the same. (Perhaps you're a bit color-blind? Or your monitor is out of adjustment.) The cops are this color (roughly).
There is: A helmetted guard and his buddy walking around the inventor's shop. An archer in the watch house next door. Benny patrols next to the fountain. A guard patrolling by the hotel. Another guard in a watch post near there, with an archer next to him.
Only other guards are in the vaults: one purple (outside) and two-tone (inside).
Forced ghosting is always a controversial decision. But once you've got the layout of the streets (and more importantly, the sewers), it's pretty easy to get around this mission.

I have the 3 CW mice but don't remember where I got them. If that is where the code is for Vault 3, how do I find the place where I got the mice? Specific directions please.

It's
in one of the first buildings you come to. The one with the piece of wood above the open window. Climb inside and climb down the ladder to where the counter is with the shelves behind it. Underneath the counter on the left hand side is a small plaque with the vault 3 code.
Cheers,

And in case that isn't specific enough, it's the building next to the police HQ, the one that the two coppers patrol around.

Gorgeous mission but... graphics went 1992 quality when I killed a guard and got "the requested screen mode could not be set". Any idea?
Sliptip on 14/12/2006 at 12:37
Sorry - I have no idea about that one :(
I can't think of anything in this FM that would relate the guards to the video settings. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help. . .
Out of curiosity how did you kill the guard?
Velvet Paw on 14/12/2006 at 14:23
I was at the very beginning after a sewer passage, I went up a place and killed him from one floor above with an arrow. I am playing at the highest difficulty level and forgot I couldn't kill anyone...but anyway, once he died instead of getting the crossbones and skull of failure right away, it took a long while then I restarted the mission and everything is very very low resolution with pixels the size of bricks... Changing in-game settings won't solve the problem. My system is top notch (I do my "housekeeping" regurlarly), all other programs/games work perfect but Thief2 :(
Please help, I didn't find any related topic in FAQs or through Search :(

Great FM, my only problem with it was code2. I dont like when
things are just kind of hidden out of site, I hate having to look a map over for stuff like that to the point where you loose track of where you even found stuff.
Maybe there was a hint in the map for where it was? I tried reading over everything but I had so many notes already.
Other than that I got all the loot/secrets without any help, it was just that code that borked me.
I had some fun with that zombie, lead 2 guards down there to fight him and locked one guard in one of the vaults. Problem with that, I closed both the gates before I ran out, locking the guard in the main vault room, then I used noisemaker to get him in a small vault and locked it. You cant apparently open it again with the code. Oh shit I just realized Im a dipshit. Those were the levers, that should have worked fine that code disabled the security, fuck.
Oh well, fantastic looking piece of work, lots of boxes for box fun. It was slightly annoying in expert mode, seems like the guards were really jumpy and annoying to get around, probably why I ended up locking most of them in rooms.
A little fun was getting the guardroom keys. I lead them out and pickpocketed both the keys off the guards so they couldnt get back in their room, I toyed with the idea of locking all 3 in there but its a small door and it would have been tough.

In the guard room off to the right when you first start, I piled boxes all the way to the ceiling right behind that guard and cut the tapastry and climbed through :)
Good fun, thanks alot slip, looking forward to the next installment.

a quick question related to the series as a whole ... I love that word "series" as in "more to come" :cheeky: ....*sigh* esme stares into space contemplating more missions like this one..... *ahem* :o back to topic, the keeper portraits <span class="son">are they actually the keepers themselves somehow transformed rather than just simple portraits</span> :cheeky:
