Are you sure you have the name right? I didn't see a room belonging to anyone named Bastien. Maybe you mean
Benoit's room? . If so, it unlocks with
Renzo's key :thumb:
Has anyone else ever made a mission with textures like theses before? This is stunning, it is simply amazing what people can do with Dromed these days. Dare I say, best textures ever. Wonderful job. Cannot wait for the next mission! :thumb:
I do have a question, I need the last keeper portrait, I'm in the hotel. Go up the stairs, room to the right, would that be Benoits room? I have Renzo's key, doesn't work, what room is that, to be exact. What am I missing?
I've done everything else, except that. Thanks.

From memory you can either bash the door in or swim through the water and climb up the rope ladder, onto the roof and through the window.

The_Dude, TY very much! I got it, and all done. Both secrets, 200 shy of loot. Fun mission. Best eye candy ever. Thanks again for making this treat for us sliptip. :) Look forward to your next one, hope Digi sees this mission.

So what happened after 16th December - everyone collapsed with splendour fatigue?
My attention was just drawn to this mission and sliptip, I hope you are not getting tired of hearing applause but visually this has raised the bar and is just astonishing architecturally and light and texture-wise. And I was looking at a video of Assassin's Creed over Christmas but even with it still fresh in mind, Ashen Age is just well. I hate it when people use 'stunning' and 'superb' and 'awesome' but it's hard to avoid.
Not got too far - just walking through admiring the views. Oh! free game with this 3D art gallery as well? All right! I like to play stealthy but might be tempted to bash one or two AI to get a closer look at some things such as that fountain. Wow! I've not seen a fountain that attractive even in the real world!
One 'flaw' you must already know about - the sewer waterfall has no visible surface flow. Dunno how it looks from above or if it can be seen from there. Not too important, just seemed a bit odd.
But all in all, visually THE BEST Thief 2 mission I personally have ever played. I am completely unable to attain this level of expertise in level editing so instead shall go away and live in a cave. But not till I've finished Ashen Age.
So keep this thread alive someone or tell me where everyone went!

Wow, I just gotta say thanks to everyone for your kind words - It really means a lot to me. As well, to those that have offered constructive criticsms I'm trying to take your advice to heart!
I've learned a lot in the process and still have a long way to go - but you've all made it very worthwhile!
Hugs!

Just finished on hard. I have found all loot (2412), both secrets, but missed to pick 4 pockets out of 8. It took me only 1 h 14 minutes, but it was my second try (first was on expert). The new weapons are great. I love the clockwork mouse. Will we see it again in the next part? The new textures are beautiful and I love the feel of the entire mission.
Sliptip, you are very talented. Please let us see more of your work.
My first reaction to the daylight was: "What the...?? Daylight???" :cheeky:

Sensational imagery. They would look good on a modern game. Those dirty textures look great! Are these experimental or will they be included in a published future FM?
BTW, the Ashen Age game itself is also good solid absorbing gameplay as well as looking fantastic. Almost done but not yet found the last (?)
keeper image
I'm just about to scan through this thread through the spoilers now! :thumb:

OK, now skimmed through every spoiler for all the different goodies and going back in but I already took apart the place where what I need should be. I don't mind going through that again now I'm certain it's there - it's searching when you don't even know if somethings' there that can be a bit frustrating. So anyway, if anyone in the meantime would like to post where it is PRECISELY I might need it later! Here's what I'm talking about (maybe a multi-spoiler so only read if finished)....
The 4 keeper portraits: one down in the sewer in the smuggler's place where Corrado is. Two in the vaults (were there two there or only one? My memory is not so good but I know I have three. I think one was somewhere else.) and there should be one in the big city watch place which I think is the one I'm missing. Damn, now I'm in doubt as to whether I actually found that one but I gotta try again. Can someone post the full precise list?
