You can shut the Watchers off by entering a code in the same machine that opens the vault doors. It's found in a note in Capt. Benoit's room which I think is across the hallway.

doors I had them for. Apparently I had codes for one and two but not three. Now I'll have to search this darn thread again to find the whereabouts for that one. Sadly, I read so much earlier, I can't remember. :(
Thanks for the reply on that info for Watchers...one of the few baskets I missed seeing...oh well! :D At least that part is soooo much easier now..I'm just unhappy I had to waste so much time and effort, I could have been done hours ago! :laff:
EDIT: Well I'm getting exhausted...got the darn code..went to enter into machine...ding found secret...but what do I run into now...I need a key for the darn chest! I dropped all except the one you find in the office and the second one that I picked..same key. Krappie doo doo. I'm pretty sure Rooms 1 and 2 are around there but if it's another one..??? I sure hope the fire arrow's in that chest...cause if it's not..I haven't the faintest idea where to look now. :( In the meantime, could someone guide me please? Thanks.

I don't think you need a key. My notes said that the shatterstar arrows and explosive device were in Vault 2 but didn't mention a chest. The chest in Vault 3 can be picked open. :)

See edit below for updated info.
Well I did check my alternate key for weapon check earlier, but not after I opened blue chests (didn't get a sound from two of them as if I'd gotten somthing out...only the third one which had the explosive), so I'll recheck that to see if I got those arrows. :) Will report back on that.
I tried but it darkens out when I try to use picks, and only when I tried the one key I had did it respond and highlighted, but not the right key as I stated earlier. So on this last run, I'll try getting those two other keys back and see if that works. I may have gotten another key somewhere but can't remember if I did or where if so. :(
Thanks again for the reply. You know I luv ya! :)
EDIT: OK, I rechecked my weapons and sure enough they were there. Although I got a note about them I didn't even realize that till just a bit ago after I went around and picked up the other two keys again. Tried them but they didn't work either. I was stumped. Then by accident I went through all the scrolls, notes, etc. and found I had that other note about the arrows. Still no other indication that I even had them or another note. Think that should have been implimented a lot better. Anyway, so thought I would see if I could blow up that chest with one. Shot it, landed on lock, nothing happened. Got it back, shot again and hit the wooden area in the lid, nothing happened again but when I went to retrieve, it had disappeared into the chest. I tried using my key to see if I could pull it out, like when you use something to detect if something is hidden behind something. Well I tried in the lower area of the chest..it darkened, but no arrow came out. Then I happened to stand up and tried again, and guess what...this is weird...the chest highlighted and my pick starting working. Yeegads...I was using my picks earlier in the general location of the lock, like normal, but this dang chest had to be only picked from the top lid area of the chest!!! :p
So now I'll go back to game and finish..still don't understand what value those arrows are for? Then on top of that, says normal arrows will work on explosive! I give up! :D So now next to play is Morrgans's new FM, and already have it dl'd now. C'ya and thanks.

Holy cow!!! That has to be one of the most absolute dead sexy FMs I have seen in a long time. I love the new textures and sounds, I actually felt like I was on the street and in houses!
Wow!!!:thumb: :thumb:
I agree. This was one of my favorite missions not only for the content, but for the "feel" of the game. I loved it, and can't wait for Part 2!

The lighting thread prompted me to replay this early this morning while the wind was shaking the building and everything was creaking, and having also been shaken to pieces in the minor earthquake this week I needed something to calm my nerves. This certainly fit the bill.
I can't think why I never commented first time around (possible off-line period) but I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I'd very much like to go and live there now - so if you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction. :)
I'm fascinated by textures and and these were particularly stunning I thought. And not only that, it was nicely tricky in places and I had a lot of fun. Thank you.

Just chiming in to add my continued appreciation for the first part of The Ashen Age (it's so small and simple, yet it's one of my most favorite FMs EVER!!) and encouragement for the rest of the series' eventual release! I'm looking forward to it--so far, this is one of the most interesting FM stories I've ever stumbled across! :D

Heh, furgot I posted that last comment, some weird amnesia of sorts :laff:
I'm wondering, slip: will you try to aim for KF3 to actually be compatible with the ongoing T2 Multiplayer project? dunno why, the name "Arena" just fits in line with stuff like Unreal Tournament and (to a lesser degree) Doom, to me...

Thanks Lady Taffer, I'm really glad you liked it! :)
@Albert - I would love that. I got all excited about the prospect one afternoon, but realized that it probably wouldn't be possible. The tools that would be the most fun in a multi-player situation wouldn't work with more than 1 Garrett on the map :(
