In Stonemarket look for Norrington Court - if you stand facing the weaponsmith and go to the left past the barrel with the carrot and through the little alley, you'll find Norrington Court. Look around that area.

I'm having a similar problem. For me the game crashes after I've "opened" the gate to Stonemarket. I've tried playing the game differently just before or just after this point to see if that affects things any. No matter what I do, within a minute or so of
flipping the power switch the game crashes. It's happened 5 times today. I'm about 46 minutes into the game. For now I'm giving up on this mission. It's the only mission I've ever played that has done this.
Same thing here. Right after I enter the voltage and flip the switch, as soon as I select a weapon the game crashes.
Also, I was able to get to the gate to Stonemarket and open it but cannot crawl under it. Seems just a tad too low.

I always seem to get stumped where no-one else does......
Have the chart, chronosphere(?) & sextant, but really can't find the compass. Read how Cromwell threw it out the window & I reckon I've crawled all over that area - in & out of the water.
Real close to finishing, so could I have an outright spoiler please?

Outright spoiler coming up as requested. :)
Stand facing the tavern and slide into the water on your left. Move along the wall away from the tavern till you get to the end then you should find it just round the corner of the wall.

Thanx for those really clear directions, nickie, but I still can't see it - I've blind-frobbed my way around the entire perimeter underwater, but it's not in inventory & objective not ticked off.
Shame not to actually finish this gem after it's kept me absorbed for 2-&-a-bit-evenings, but I may have to ctrl-alt-del-end it :erg:
One odd little bug: went through the process of making the 5 toxic arrows but nothing came out of the chute. Later, when going up the stairs in the inventor's house (near the top) I got the 'weapon collected' sound - & there they were! Just as well - they really helped in a couple places.

OK I'll try and get a screenshot for you. I don't know about the odd things you're getting though I'm afraid.
Edit.
(http://tinypic.com/r/2hqexzo/6) It's directly below my feet so to speak.

Ye Gods, how do I miss these things? (I'd been trying from the top of that little 'cut-away' rather than from the end). Got it & finished. Thanx so much for helping an old blind taffer, nickie (heck, if it happens to come up, you'll have my vote for moderator ;) )
Wonderful FM, Brethren :thumb: - maybe flirted a little with the idea of being too hard, but the story, atmosphere & sense of immersion made it more than worth it. (And any mission where you get to destroy zombies in so many ways is a good mission!!)
Unfortunately: 0 of 4 secrets :nono: & 1255 short of loot - a 4th evening coming up :D

Maybe it is due to the fact, that I use my old machine, but I've discovered a quite strange phenomenon. Somebody here mentioned a never ending gold stash or purse. Well, I met a rat which offered me a never ending cheese -- reaching the food objective quite easily. Also, some zombies were hovering in the air, frozen and not moving, only groaning, when they heared me. As I "touched" them, they transformed into normal zombies. So far, so funny, but when this bug or bug-complex occured the game often crashed and even more important: I was not able to blow up the stuff in front of the docks gate. Placed all things well, prepared the blowup and got a "something must have gone wrong." Huh, nothing was wrong. I restarted the game, made a quick playthrough (with more hard saves, where I checked if the bug was active) and then I was able to blast the blockade away. I found out, that when the bug occurs the whole game seems to get corrupted and you have to restart the game (but should not load "corrupted" save games). A simple way to test, if the bug is active, is to start a new game, grap the firepoker and lift the planks away. No bug, no problem. But, with an active bug, the planks will flip away and (mysteriously) another plank appears, blocking your way.
As I mentioned, I'm using my old computer and maybe it cannot handle this obviously very massive zombie army. But due to the fact, that a game important passage (blowing free the way to the docks) doesn't work, when it's active, I wanted to report it.

@fey*grenzgang, You say old machine ? Can you give your specs? And thanks for your observations.

ok, got into the docks finally, i found a key named "mysterious key" what use has this key? also where´s the key for the footlocker in the docks tavern? also what´s the right combination for the orange lock near the dead person wich lays in a table? damm i still got some goals to complete and i´m getting stuck everytime i make a move, i think this is the hardest mission i ever played, even Sterlino missions are less harder compared to this one...will there be a walktrough for this mission, it really needs one
