Concerning picking the pockets in the tavern: I was successful with yet another approach, mainly trying to let my victims forget that I was there, and then trying to stay out of their line of sight while approaching. Getting the money of the man near the stairs was tough. Once, I
went outside the tavern, stayed there for several minutes, then crouched down and snuck in again through the main doors. I steered to the left as soon as the door permitted, then approached the wall, still crouched. I jumped or mantled onto the table closest to the man at the stairs, trampling over the woman's food without anyone noticing:cheeky:, crouched down again and snuck across the table, close to the wall. Then I was able to grab the man's money bag. After that, I went down on the floor again, crouched once more, and slowly advanced upon the other man with a pocket to pick. He was sitting at a table close to the stairway, between the first victim and the bar. I was able to relieve him of his money once I got into snatching range.
When I played the mission a second time, that approach didn't work for the man near the stairs, so I
went up the stairs, did some sneaking there, and when I returned several minutes again, I crouched down, then crawled down the stairway near the wall, and continued sneaking along the wall at the base of the stairs until the man's purse lighted up. And then it was gone.:ebil:
Picking the pocket of the guard near Lady Adaline's house, directly before the Collector's tower, was a bit tricky once (and didn't work when I played the mission again). I succeeded by coming from a place where he would rather not expect me, and getting into range for just a split second. To be more precise, I
came from the water to the left and below the guard. From there, I was able to get his money by
getting onto the dry piece of land near the tree down there, then jumping up and towards the guard and repeatedly pressing the mouse button in order to frob his purse. However, the guard may observe a thief approaching this way, and then come along running. Fortunately, I found a good hiding place nearby.:sly:
Well, the easiest way for me hinted by other players before was to
wait behind a victim for a few moments and then grab the money. It worked perfectly in the tavern, only I didn't know I had to wait before actually trying to pickpocket them.
As for that troublesome guard, I dealt with him in a VERY hard troublesome way. Mainly,
I let him chase me long until we reached the main gate through all those streets. Then he lost sight of me, and then I sneaked behind him and... blackmailed him, though I am not sure if one hit was enough. And after that, his purse was mine. But it was tough and crazy and... well dirty. Although I only blackmailed him, not killed him. Oh no, I am a thief, not a murderer!
This key itself is not really hidden, it's in plain view once you approach it. A readable which you will find along the way (although very well hidden) tells you where this key is usually kept. You can also deduce in which area the key will be by guessing what this key might open. It is kept close to the place where it has to be used. To be more specific,
there are only two places where you can see enough trees outside the city to call it a forest. One of these places is where you will need the key, and you will find it only a short walk from there. And if you pay attention to the readable in which the key's location is mentioned, you may even get a clue as to which of the two forest-like places will be the right one.We will see. I have not finished visiting the whole location, so I will keep seeking.
When? Does it happen in
this mission, or in a sequel? I have finished the mission a few times, but do not remember anything which I connect to the
sewers. :idea:Maybe something involving the "agent" achievement...?Break into her cellar? I don't think so. Although there is a cellar-like, accessible room in this city quarter, I do not believe that it belongs to the Lady's house.
There is no access from her house either. You can, hovever, easily steal
that goblet. Wait until the Lady won't see or hear what you do, then shoot a rope arrow into the balcony just below the goblet, climb up, and grab it. Retrieve your rope arrow afterwards. Not that hard, huh?;)
I finally was able to get to her balcony and visit the whole property. But, boy, was it tough! I think it was really way too tough!
I had to repeat my jumps many times. If it hadn't been for Soul Tear who had directed me, I would never have known how to access this balcony. What I mean is that I tried that way before (I climbed that balcony where there are those plants creeping up the wall) but I was unsuccessful, so i dropped the issue. I think it was way too hard. But then again, I am inexperienced when it comes to playing famissions.
There's a gap in your path, and there are
two ways of dealing with it. One involves one or two pieces of equipment; a hint can be seen if you look up. The other way is quite straightforward, but did not work for me sometimes.
For the time being I couldn't managed to find the way in.
Now my way is clear and I will make my second attempt shortly.
