When? Does it happen in
this mission, or in a sequel? I have finished the mission a few times, but do not remember anything which I connect to the
sewers. :idea:Maybe something involving the "agent" achievement...? I meant the "Agent" (but in the next mission, this place will also play a role).

Look for the NW house that between City Gate and The House of Science. Use a rope arrow on the wooden beam under the roof. Two of the windows is frobbable (attic and room). But you will not find a zombie. You can see it in the keyholeOk, I found the house.
Is it the one adjoining the other house accessible through the door?
Where is that wooden beam?UPDATE: Ok, I found the way into that building.
Still, this wooden beam you mentioned does not look like a wooden beam at all, not mentioning anything wooden. On my screen it looked like a dark line under the roof, definitely not wooden. I didn't recognize it. I just kept shooting at random at the roof, and suddenly, bah, my rope arrow stuck into something just under the roof. I don't think this is the way it should be. There should be some landmark, something capturing a little bit of attention besides a barking dog. This is not very convincing...
There should be somehting that would lead the player onto the right track. It is just too frustrating to keep lurking around and searching randomly. Without your advice, I would have never thought that this house looked conspicuous. I think you should have added some hints leading the player in this direction.
Otherwise, it is just playing randomly, and maniacally, but without any thought...
I mean, it would be great to discover your world, but still with some intelligent hints. Was there any hint leading to this particular House in this district, or the way to get into? Was there any hint leading to the balcony of that lady? It was just tiresome trying to jump there. And again, without your advice I would have just given up,. although I was trying hard...This is just my opinion, but again, I am inexperienced when it comes down to FMs.
Now it's time to see what is hiding in that house :)
Thank you!

I can't give this mission any praise. I've found it full of unintuitive, unexplained, or fiddly mechanics, with too many narrow, cramped locations. I've played hundreds of FMs, and even the bad ones I can muscles through usually, but not this.

Ok, I really feel silly for asking again, but can I get the exact location of that silver nugget. I thought I had it, but it was the coin in the drain. It's all I need to have 100% and I really hate to admit how much time I've spent looking. I even tried Dromed but it wont load, it just crashes... It's like some astrological force doesn't want me to find it.:erg: :nono: :tsktsk:

missybetty, I do not think it necessary to give a hint on each secret in the game world. What's the point? Players have complete freedom to explore the world and get rewarded for their efforts.
About wooden beam, I have bad English, I mean a wooden plank. And it's really a wooden plank.

Zednaught, one can not please everybody. I like my narrow locations and my strange gameplay. Thank you for feedback.
I do want to thank all players for the comments. Unfortunately Russian players are very stingy on the comments.

I finally finished this mission (well, more or less - I still have some secrets and achievements I may go back in to find). Soul Tear, I applaud your work wholeheartedly. It has been many years since I've played a mission that actually challenged me and I enjoyed every minute of it. There was nothing about the mission that bothered me, not even the three-pick doors. I had read the readme file beforehand so when I encountered those doors I just assumed I would get into them later. I loved the difficulty of the mission and the need to really think your way through certain situations. I think that aspect of it was brilliantly done. And it is stunningly beautiful. I am still amazed that I was playing a Thief mission. This is truly a tribute to your hard work and talent and to that of all who have pushed Thief into the new century. Amazing. Thank you for many hours of truly enjoyable gameplay.

missybetty, I think you missed something on that ledge above the spiders. There is no need to go down from the metal ledge into the place where the spiders are. Instead, you can either go back through the hotel room with the patrolling guard inside, or you can find a way past the gap in the metal ledge.
To travel past this gap, you can either just jump across, but it's tricky; you most likely need a running start and maybe have to mantle up by pressing and holding the "jump" key. The second possibility involves one or two special arrows... as I said, look up...;)
The guards on the street might get alerted because they see you on the metal ledge, where you don't belong. That's what I believe. I was lucky, however. Most of the time, I was either not seen at all, or just by the archer across the street, on a balcony. Since I was sneaking most of the time, maybe if you crouched and sneaked as well, no one would attack you afterwards.
You still need to do a few things until you can get the forest key, so wait until you find a readable mentioning this key by name. Only then will you begin to slowly approach the key, and even then it will still take some time.:D

the sewers only are accessed from the start area before you enter the city, you obviously came in from the portcullis entrance, to get to the sewers you need to go back to the start and look for a
log sticking out from the waterfall, and rope arrow into that logto proceed further into the mission you need to first find the
police station where you will find a keyHow do I get in? Thought the sewers were needed to get in. Guess not.

Soul Tear: No need to get your feathers ruffled. I was just expressing my opinion, which, I think, everybody has the right to. I really appreciate your work, but sometimes it can be really frustrating. :thumb:
BTW, is there (or will be) a complete walkthrough to this mission?
Baeuchlein: Thank you for your advice. I'll keep that in mind. I think I know now the reason why I was attacked by the guards. They must have seen me through the fence when I was trying to destroy that bush under the tree with my sword when I was looking for the way out :p - to no avail, and they must have got alerted.
