(kept reading about these doors in the forum).
The gate accessible from the roof cannot be opened from that side. The door on the wooden hut below can't be opened from the side where you are either. However, both the hut and the gate on the roof lead to the garrison. Do you remember what
was written in Thereon's book concerning the key? Thus, the book leads you
into this garrison. Since you can't get there by either one of the standard access points
(hut door and gate), you need to find a non-standard way into there. To find this way, you have to check
the wood planks near the hut's roof very carefully. You should find a couple of
loose planks on the side of the hut where the door is, close to the top of the hut's roof and the garrison wall. There's a helpful tool which most likely already is in your inventory:
the crowbar. Apply it, then enter the building. From now on, the way to the forest key should be clear. If, however, you search your surroundings very carefully, you should also be able to open the door to the hut - if you're still interested in that, of course.:D

So I got the key to the forest, I heard a gate open when I grabbed it, & I got the room at the inn with the help of the spider & then the game ends. Is that it? Where's the forest? Can I not get into the science building, nor the creepy tunnel blocked off by a mage magic wall in the tavern's basement, at all :confused:

Yes, that's the regular end of the mission. The forest would most likely be the one visible behind the iron fence near the hut, but I believe Garrett will only enter it in the next mission. He shall not pass by the magical barriers either in this mission. If you went to some unusual places in "Bad Venture", you would have seen some other loose ends which might reappear in the following missions of the "Keeper of Infinity" campaign.
For now, you've done it. You (as Garrett) stole the key necessary to enter the forest, and I think Garrett plans to enter the forest the following day - after having had a refreshing sleep. So, sleep well, taffer!;)

This is a very impressive mission and is going to keep me going for days at this rate. I'm stuck in the sewers:confused:. I killed the spiders, found the nugget and crowbar (got killed a few times by the haunt) but can't lock pick any door, can't find a key and haven't found anywhere to use the crowbar. Any suggestions?

Typical!!! As soon as I posted I went back to the mission and found the way out!!! No need for a key (or a crowbar, which is what threw me). Upward and onward!:thumb:

When I start the mission it says I need a newer version of the game... Mine's 1.21, what version do I need to play this mission?

1.22 is the current version, but I didn't know the game could tell which version a mission required.

Open the downloaded file, then open newdark.zip. Extract the contents to your T2 folder. If you've made changes to the orginal versions of the .cfg or .ini files you'll have to redo them.

I'm 99% complete with the walkthrough on this thing, but I have a couple of comments/questions.
* To get the HAMMER achievement you're supposed to wake up the 'cursed thief' laying behind one of the ragged curtains in the grotto and then "use" holy water on him. To my knowledge I didn't find any holy water until much later in the mission. When I tried to return through that miserable front gate affair, it had been sealed off. (No, it wasn't because I raised the gate.)

* I know there's a 'spare arrow' in the lodge (guards' shack). However, I found one early on in the mission. Can someone refresh my memory as to where I may have found it?

* Am I correct in understanding that the AGENT achievement is unavailable for this mission? The "brutally murdered Keeper Jonas."? If it is available, where might I find this dead body?

This is more of a long list of hints and screenshots I've done, as opposed to a step-by-step walkthrough. Would the community like both, seeing as to the FM's difficulty?

1. If I remember well, but I could be wrong, I was automatically equipped with holy water from the very start of the game (I played Expert difficulty). Correct me if I am wrong.
3. Agent achievement is available - again I am talking about the Expert mode.
The dead body of the Keeper can be found underneath the inn where you are supossed to take a nap - look under the stairs leading to the entrance - there is a passage there. However, to discover the body you also need a scouting orb, only in a form of a disc.Cheers
