T2 FM. Bad Venture - Old version (Released 12/25/14) - by Soul Tear

I have to say I've enjoyed this mission. Had to read many spoilers to get to some places. I'm still actually missing 3 secrets and a good 1000 loot or so.
I have one question at this time. The door in the sewers cannot be picked, is there a key? I can't seem to find it.
I think this mission is great for old school thief fans. I like the idea of red sparkle dots showing areas we cannot access. I think this is more acceptable than picking with 2 picks and then leaving a 3rd one for the future. I'm assuming the pawn shop is one of these doors as I have not found a key for that either.
That being said, I'm assuming there are some more areas I haven't found, and trust me, I've looked at lots of areas. I cannot tell you how many times I've raced back to make more rope arrows.
The only negative thing I don't like is the aggro of guards when you aggro one, several others will aggro. I'm playing on the most difficult setting, and I like to blackjack my enemy. Wish others didn't have helmets.
Oh, one more question, is there a way to access the elevator in the wine cellar since there is a frobbable gate, but can't find a key for that either?
Someone mentioned a fire arrow with the camera. I used a mine on the shooter instead.
Good job overall. I haven't had a good mission like this since Rocksbourg.

No. Like with some other doors, the idea was (as far as I know) that it was not realistic that the player could tell whether there was a key for a particular door in the mission or not by just stepping up close to the door. Real doors don't highlight when there's a key (or a set of lockpicks) for them in the vicinity.;)

There is no key for that door in the mission either, AFAIK.

On the other hand, usually not all of the guards will turn hostile at once. But to my knowledge, it is not easy for a mission author to fine-tune this. Thus, you better try not to blackjack
everyone. Rather, reserve this for enemies who are separate from the others. For example, giving the guards in the wine cellar an unfriendly nod with your blackjack:ebil: does not have any effect on the guards outside, or at least I never noticed a different reaction. Whacking someone in the crowded tavern room, however, is not recommended, unless you like to have a trail of, erm, "loyal followers".:cheeky:

No, you can't use the elevator, but have to get back out the way you came in.

I think the idea with that camera was different. There's a difficult but possible way to loot the safe without damaging or deactivating the camera. You get a special ticked-off objective if you figure that out. Kind of a "special achievement".

I am trying to find all the loot, now and then with the help of a lootlist. I need help with one particular piece: a purse worth 30. Lootlist says "1st city part, house by bush, gutter". There are several houses with bushes in this area. Can someone be more specific? Is the 'gutter' that watery trench next to the house with the colourful plants close to the entrance to the secret wine cellar? Been combing this place a lot.
EDIT: Found it with the help of TTLL. Saw that was placed at around the same height as where Lady Adaline's balcony is.
Ah OK, gutter means two different things! I only knew one of the meanings. (In swedish, we have a different word for those things that are attached to roof edges.)
Personally, I would have called that place
"House (with colourful plants) W Lady Adaline's, on roof high up on the W. side"

I got the special achievement with the camera. I was just curious as to where a fire arrow is. Maybe I skipped a fire place or something. Like I mentioned, I'm missing 3 secrets, so I'll be investigating more before trying to look at loot lists and such. I've finished this already, thank you speed potion, but want to try and do everything.

BTW, whoever posted the pic of the girl floating in the cellar of the tavern, it has happened to me.
I look forward to part 2.
Have been exploring with no luck on the 3 secrets. Though I did find some extra loot and various arrows I didn't come across so far. I did however get to climb on top of the tavern and over to a high wall behind the tavern with 3 archers. I think this is sort of out of bounds, but just thought it was cool. Didn't find anything on or around the archers.

Maybe nowhere. I do not remember having seen any fire arrow in the mission. I even believe someone already said that there's no fire arrow in this mission.

I've seen her flying as well, half embedded in the cellar wall.

Nope, there is no fire-arrows to be found but you can buy one at the store; Anyway don't bother, the watcher is indestructible.
:erg:
SoulTear you did a visual walkthrough for Lost in the Far Edge; Can you do another for this mission ? I'm really curious about how you wanted the mission to be played- plus I think it will be of great help for those who didn't finish it :p

Up to 7220 loot. Still haven't found those 3 secrets. I finally understand why it's called the zombie house. :)

Can anyone put a list of the secrets here? I'm having problems with the lootlist.

(

But the turret yields to a mine. :) Not sure about a fire arrow.
