I'm completely stuck on this objective: "Find out how this machine works." I've been all throughout the Mechanist area (except for one small locked steel door that I can't get into) and this objective won't tick off. I'm pretty sure it means the giant spider tank in Hangar 18, but I've combed that area up and down and the objective still won't tick off. What am I missing?

Well, I just finished it, it was fantastic. It reminds me some goold old T2 fms like I dunno, durant, benny's dead, TTGM series, Uncadonego's work... Brought back some memories about the first fms.
A simple, classic mission, yet really entertaining and pretty well made. Lots of things to find in the streets, I really enjoyed it.

I had some trouble trying to open the library secret, I just couldn't see this book no matter how hard I looked. Same with the good fuse. I had to look for hints in this thread. But I found all the loot and secrets :o

Truly excellent mission! Fun and interesting through and through. Good main goal and multilevel city with sidequests. And how about all those wonderful ledges and secret routes to be found. Custom content was well made and nice looking. Best way to describe IMHO, is this mission was rich and full of deluxe thief gameplay, atmosphere and story. Certainly looking forward to any sequels. I wasn't able to find all the loot, secrets and good stuff, but still I had a blast! Better luck next time when I play this great mission again. Thanks a bunch!

An old-school, "Thief doing what Thief is best at" style of mission. And so far, the FM of the year.

My first run left me missing 1 keycard (the toymaker, DOH!), 1 secret and about 600 short of loot. After consulting this thread, I'm now only 30 loot short - somewhere there's a really devious piece of loot laughing at me. Also, I never got the Warehouse door open, but I'd found another way in, so I didn't mind.

The only fault I find with this mission, and this is one is a bit strange, is that I'd rather not have had the map that outlined the Thief Contest locations. I'd found 3 of them before getting the map, and I was slightly disappointed by having their locations given to me. "Don't use it", someone might say, but the damage was done.

Easily one of the "must-play" missions for Thief 2.

There is a window with a ledge opposite to the bank.

FOR LOOT: The loot places are too complicated to describe, but there is a included lootlist by prjames, check the mission .zip.
