How to get into the other side of the gate from that 'Unhygenic' Kitchen on the other side of the sewers. There's a gate on one side and a lever-operated or unoperable bars on the other. How to get inside? Help please!!
Tried to jump onto the wall but kept on falling down due to the slope near the reception room. Tried this nearly 20 times. Where's the Gate Key?

I loaded up Benny's Dead to try to figure out where you're stuck, but I'm still not sure. The "unhygenic Kitchen" could be the Inn with all the rats running around on the floor. The gate that is close to there is the gate into the Hotel grounds. Is that what you mean? If it is, then to find the key,
go back down the street and find the Moth Town Watch Substation. You have to get upstairs and find Capt. B. Hill's office. Pick open the wall safe and you'll find the "Hotel" key hanging inside. That opens the gate.
If it's not that particular gate, then I don't know which one you're referring to.

That was the gate I was referring to. But need details regarding the Moth Substation(1) Is it on the same side of the sewers?
yes ? then (2) Is that the one where a lady guard sleeps outside on a chair?
Anyway I'll try to figure that out. Also Here I furnish further information about the location I referred to in my previous post
(1)There's a note near the door "Due to hygiene problems we are closing .. "
(2)Theres a guy in the outhouse
(3)There are rats and spiders in the room
(4)There are those sewer species on the other side of the room
If this location is not the one you thought , please tell.
Thank you.

Moth Substation is the building with the sleeping guard outside. You'll find the key you need upstairs in that building, as I described in my other post. :)

Ehm, I searched through other posts for Benny's Dead and didn't find the answer. I have a... well, a problem. I must have missed something simple. I have the sewers key and I can see the enterance to the sewers, actually there are 3 of them. But when I try to unlock and open them, they do unlock, but do not open and I get a buzzy sound. Hmmm, what did I miss? :nono:

The first area of the level seems quite difficult, as cops are everywhere and you have a lot of restrictions depending on your difficulty level, but, this IS Thief...
Minor hint:
The patrols of the cops give you leeway to get through the first loot stops as well as one important destination.
Did you know that... (Hint only if you went "Yeah yeah I did all that" at the minor hint.)
Sleeping people can have pockets that can be picked, but most level designers aren't quite so cruel. Nonetheless, checking sleepers' pockets is wise.
NOW YOU KNOW...
Answer (It is a minor little puzzle anyway.):
Your goal is to head left at the first main fork and work your way to Sewerman's tower. Climb up the ladder after picking the lock and you'll find a sleeping pagan-y fellow his diary identifies as Sewerman. Take his key and READ THE DIARY
