Is there supposed to be an intro movie? After I installed it I was brought right to the objectives with no intro. Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

There are no avi or any other type of movie files in the zip file. So to answer your question, there isn't a intro video. :)

Here's another one. I seem to be running into doors that, when I frob and click, all I get is the door handle in my hand. Does that mean I'm not supposed to be able to go in those doors?

Did I miss something in this mission? From the reviews I've read of this mission its says that I should have read a bunch of stuff that lead up to Benny's "murder".
[SPOILER]I never found the Mechanist Scientists notes on that Swamp Thing. I didn't read anything fishy leading up to Benny's Murder. I never heard the midgets swear.[/SPOILER]
I started in moth, explored the sewers eliminating all midgets, and then I got to the hotel and it ended there. Do I need to play it again?
