Well, well, stumped again. I've gone all the way through the damn hotel, gotten the safe room open on the entrance floor and gotten all the messages and goodies there. Got into the master bedroom and got key. Get caught in the room where Benny was killed. So where the hell is this portal mentioned in one of the notes? Back down in the sewers?

Benny's Dead is the first of four missions in the Metal Gear: SQUALID campaign. Because of this, there are many things hinted at in the first mission which will act as clues and hints to subsequent ones.
The portal at the Dark Mesa facility won't become important until Chapter Four...

If I remember correctly,it is in one of the rooms overlooking the empty swimmimg pool.Hope this helps.

How to get up on the rooftop of the building across from the entrance to the Hotel? I've tried everything, even trying to open the box up there from the ledge. And I'm still short too much loot to be able to finish the game.
