I started clicking all over the place on the right side as well. Without hearing any sort of sound, I eventually looked in my inventory and there it was....an extra 350 worth of broadhead arrows ! Of coarse now I had to go back and kill every single rooftop archer encountered.
Thanks. I never ever would have found that cache of arrows on my own.

thanks Tim (its nice to see you again :) )
is the crypt where those vines are?

Hiya ShadowWolf - it's nice to have some time to be here again. Bad health issues over the past year, and I only communicated with Nightwalker and Dinksmallwood for the most part. They kept me up to date on what missions to look out for (and what Christine's been doing with System Shock 2 - she could be the reason used copies of SS2 start disappearing over the next year, LOL). They've been an excellent support for me. :)
I don't remember if there were vines down there or not - I might just not have noticed. Right after you get your sword, you go through an area with an old building and two haunts, then past an entryway to a large outdoor area. If you successfully get past (or lure-and-kill in my case) the haunts there, head right and KEEP going right until you get to a building with iron double-doors. Wide steps lead down to the crypts. (Once you get past the initial haunts upon entering the outdoor area, you won't have to meet another AI on the way to the crypts, so don't hassle with any more of them. Stick to the shadows and bypass the stationary haunt-archer).
Gotta run and eat and get home back to Rocksbourg Pt 2. See ya!

Don't know how to get further, &, having read right through this thread, still don't.
Have cleaned out the catacombs & come through the unfinished wall - there's a gatehouse-tower I can't get in or over & the living & undead non-warring factions in the other area. I can't seem to trigger a fight between them; whatever I do, they just chase me around!!
And I've no idea where this building with the 'tower key' is, or if it's critical to finishing this. If it means going back to the area north of the catacomb entrance, I think I'll just chuck this in. I mean, really, is a "run for your life / 'kill' a battalion of haunts" scenario truly a Thief Mission? :erg:
Thanx for any help.
EDIT: Ok, apparently I finished. (?) Anybody else having trouble with this:-
simply walk in to the shack (living Hammerites won't bother you) - that triggers the fight - take out any remaining undead & just walk to behind where the undead army was. Strange ending...
Still don't get the gatehouse-tower, or the 'tower key'.
And why can't I use spoilers on editing?

Holy hell. I just picked up the sword and
I am caught between two haunts. I can kill one, but the other and its cohorts immediately mow me down. Do I have to run here? I tried, but they eventually caught up and made quick work of me. :tsktsk:
I need some helpers please.
I don't know where the exit is out of Church and where is sword? I've tried reading these posts but they don't really help. I've retrieved quill and been through all the first rooms in the other section to find only a rope arrow, few flares and one only flash bomb. What if any reason is the Library about? Zombie in front of large fire and Haunt upstairs that has no way up (door is fake). Maybe if your able to put out fireplace perhaps more fire arrow(s) are there (that could prove troublesome)?
I have been upstairs and found Priest key but again very difficult since the Haunt on the other side patrolling hallway with rooms also has much lighting to contend with let alone the metal catwalk to get there plus the light overhead turns on making the return downstairs and out even more difficult. Went in first room directly across to find nothing and door opens to block any chance of putting out a torch, etc. So I left and got back to the entry and thought I would try and lay down a moss arrow to attempt to get to the second door down while trailing after him, but alas somehow I got detected and it killed me before I could do anything. So on reload (QS) I was back in area where I found key basically. Is there anything of real value other than possibly loot for me to get? Care less about loot! My HS is back downstairs after putting out all four tourches in church but still on this side (could reset my HS to where my QS is and only two torches have been put out downstairs that are in the back). On an earlier try however, thought I would see if I could pick the arrows from archer haunt in front since I did put out those torches..but no luck and killed again. Reload put me back again as described above.
Someone said after I got quill that the sword was not too far away?? Is it outside in that small garden you pass through to get into church or another area once you leave church area and get into compound outside? So again leads to where is the exit? I'm playing the so-called Normal/Easy mode...Thanks for assist. :)

@ The Fire Eater:
the sword is back in that area that u are having trouble getting to, so yes u need to go back there
i managed to just sneak quickly and quietly on the catwalk and hid in the shadows next to the door on the other side, and when the haunt walked the other way on patrol, i just made my way into that area
most of ur questions should be answered when u get back there;)
about the library:
i haven't found anything of any significance in there yet, i haven't finished yet, but so far in the library i've only got a couple of loot items. also, if u want to get up where the haunt is in the library, u can rope arrow up there
hope this helps:)

Hmmm...yea it looked like a rope up area in there...but not curious or brave enough to want to try...for what? Maybe a little loot and more reloads to deal with? Heh, not me anyway. I don't usually ghost play or get into undead/Haunt missions like this even less, just not my cup of tea. But until I got started in this one, didn't understand how "really" difficult it was made afterall. :(
So then, in order to get sword...I'd have to try and beat Haunt into room(s) before he sees me...and I suppose it will be the one at the very end where he turns around, right? Did you or were you able to dodge into any of those other rooms on the way down? Where he turns is that the door or is there more hallway around a corner down there? So if I understand you correctly, the way out is somewhere upstairs as well so I don't need to go back down into the floor level...correct?
Again thanks and I'll check back for these answers as well before and if I decide to continue. I'm not sure yet if I will or not, but still appreciate the help. :)

@ The Fire Eater:
i usually don't like big, creepy undead FMs either, but when i started playing it i got interested, and it didn't seem so bad, so i decided to continue
yes, i managed to dodge into the rooms as i made my way down that hall
that door is locked, but from ur previous post i think u said u had got the priest's room key. that key goes to that door, so no there isn't more hallway down there
correct, u don't need to go back downstairs unless u want to go back and deal with all the haunts, which is what i did because i just feel better knowing there's less around:eww: :laff:
