Press "M" for a look at your map. It's pretty detailed, and a friend made a lot of notations for you while he was mapping out the area. As for the Gallery, finish the other areas first, then cross over the banner beam marked on your map to start into the gallery area.
That window ledge you mentioned. Stand on the castle right in front of it, run towards it, and as you reach the mantle, immediately press the space bar to mantle that ledge.
There are many ways to get to various areas, there is no one way only type route. My last two missions (Thieves' Highway & The Power of Suggestion) have been experiments in greater open-endedness and non-linearity, to see how much players can handle. The Power of Suggestion is likely a tad too far, so the next mission will back off a bit, with more nudging in certain directions and more hints on where to go. Thieves' Highway was on the cusp of how much non-linearity is acceptable and navigatable by players, but I'm glad I did it and sort of found that limit for future missions.

Ah, I found the other equipment. I noticed that
little spot in the closet
many times, and were it an official theif level I'd have thought instantly that it was a hidden spot, but as this was a fan mission I didn't know for sure. I thought I checked everywhere for
that little switch
but I guess I was wrong.
Now that I have the stuff I need, maybe the rest of the gameplay won't be so damn hard. Thieving with a sword... how GAUCHE! I feel all dirty now.

wait... a map? Could have sworn there wasn't one.

Yep, there is one. When you first bring it up you don't see it (at least I don't) because it comes up on the spot where you can write notes. Hit the little arrow button on the bottom right hand corner of the map screen and it'll cycle over to the map (which is two pages long).

Hmm. Maybe I didn't even check for a map; I seem to remember reading in the text that shows up in Darkloader that there wasn't one. Off-topic, but sometimes I actually prefer there *not* be a map, as if there is one I tend to spend vast amounts of time checking my compass and every bit of architecture to make sure it all matches up and I haven't missed anything. I can imagine that could take a long time with a mission like Thieves' Highway!

I just got finished with this one and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it, uncadonego. :)
It was challenging in places and I did get stuck once (yellow pipe must DIE ;)) but managed to mantle my way out after a time.
Good fun. :thumb:

Hi, I just wanted to bump this thread to say that this mission is really well done. I just stumbled upon it by browsing south quarter for city missions and realized I already had it downloaded but never tried it.
The rooftop exploring is really top notch, better than lotp in my opinion. The architecture is simply beautiful without an abundance of custom content.
After having played nearly a hundred of FMs some years ago I thought i became
oversaturated, because I couldn't stand playing new missions for more than half an hour before quitting, this FM changed that. Thanks for that :thumb:
PS: Right after that I played "Chain of Events", another great city mission by the same author which I also highly recommend.
I guess I'm hooked to Thief again.
