O.K here goes:
There is one hidden switch on every level of the Gallery, and two on the basement level. one of the switches on the basement level will open the hatch to the secret attic (which contains some loot). As for the others: once each one has been switched on the gate to the "vault" should open.
Hopefully that makes more sense.

Emerald Wofl, I found that switch, but I still don't know what any of them opened.
This had me fooled for a short time too.
Each switch needs to be turned on to open the gate. In other words, in the UP position. After flipping all the switches I realized that the one in the guards room (top floor) was ALREADY in the up position...
Hope that helps!
Now I need help.
I've gone down the chimney, back up the ladder onto the balcony, into the window and to the partially open window in the bathroom where Garret says "Can't go that way". Now I don't know where to go! I've been all over as far as I can tell. I found a passage going up in an air duct (has a fan on one end) but it's all metal and I can't sink a rope arrow??? Any help?
Thanks!
edit - Oops, guess Po has already asked this question. Did you ever find the way out?
The inscrutable po on 2/11/2005 at 08:26
As far as the place where you're stuck, Cricket - I gave up on it. I don't think you can go further that way. I backtracked and found the museum.
Edit: Like somebody else said, that's an exit window. It's a dead end.
I got into the vault.
It was the switch in the attic that needed to be turned to the up position. So that's all done.
How satisfying was THIS fm!!!!! Finally got my fill of rooftops. Missing 70 in loot but see I missed 6 pockets to pick. Wonder where the heck all those people were? GREAT fm!!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

If you loved this mission, try playing The Curse of Lord Fishkill. It's an old fan mission, but it's very good. I'm thinking of playing both again to figure out which is better and why. I definitely like rooftop missions. I think the only reason there aren't more is that there's a framerate problem with all the tall buildings. I saw a little of that in Thieves' Highway. The constant threat of long and unexpected falls makes this kind of mission exciting.
