Well then, should you want to try again, I suggest you replace it with the copy of convict.osm found (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/darkloader/ThiefScripts.zip) here. You will probably have to uninstall and reinstall the FM in Darkloader or Garrettloader (whichever you use) and will most likely need to restart the mission from the beginning. But the objectives should work this time.
Actually, whether you play this mission again or not, I still recommend replacing your copy of convict.osm.

I think the problem is that players are finding that pass a certain threshold, the loot has become very difficult to find. If you add 200 loot, but keep the 5000 loot objective in Expert, players may still not be able to meet it, even if the 200 loot added is very easy to find.
From reading comments so far, people have managed to find between 4300 to 4900 of loot, before they couldn't find anymore. From this let's use a middle figure of 4500 of loot that can be found, without intensive searching and above that figure, the remaining loot is very difficult and would require a intensive loot hunt.
So if you add 200 of, say 'easy to get loot', it probably still won't solve people's problems with meeting the loot objective.
A workable solution would be to lower the loot objective and increase some easy/medium to get loot.
Of course I realise that this IS Expert difficulty, and hence the player is suppose to be able to find almost all the loot. :cheeky:
I do wonder if most people were able to meet the loot objective on Expert though and perhaps it's just my Kung Fu, that's not strong. I only have ~4500 loot. :p

Hmmm... I found 5106 on my own without requiring any hints or something else.
And probably there are more people around who made it on their own and therefor did not need to ask for hints.
In my opinion the point about 'Expert' is that it is HARD.
Adding maybe 100-200 should be OK, but adding more would simply make it an easy objective.

On Expert, is the birdcall simply missing
from the table in the sewers den, or is it(very well) hidden somewhere else? I had to
deactivate the vault alarm by pressing Martello's button in the locked cell up in the bell tower - may this be the reason for the "relieve the 8 keys..." objective NOT ticking off?. My convict.osm has the expected date 3/27/2000, and it has always functioned properly.
A brilliant mission btw, two or three hours of pure enjoyment. Well, I did not count many additional hours trying to meet the loot threshold, and still desperately struggling at 4956...:sweat:

The whistle signal to Brother Martelo can only be used on "Beginner difficulty. Read the instructions from Gutsy for the job that night. It seems Brother Martelo gets paranoid, and will pull the ladders up behind him. Have you found any secrets yet ? This may help you to locate the 44 loot you need. I have already found
all 5 secrets (
4 on my own), and in the meantime my loot count has reached 5196 (
thank you, Gnartsch!!!:angel:). Thus, were in not for that reluctant objective - which I actually completed - I could now blow the fanfares...

Yeah the mission is definately bugged. I read the book and nothing. It still wants me to find out who framed me.:confused: I doubt convict.osm id the problem as this is the only bugged mission I have. This was an excellent mission except for the huge bug on the objectives. Let me know when its fixed as I would love to be able to actually complete it!:angel::thumb::)
Edit: Checked convict.osm anyway and the date matches yours 3/27/2000.
