Why do I tend to have problems no one else has. I've gone back 20 pages looking for somebody who was in a similar postion.
Anyway, I've eliminated everybody in this FM. I've got two keys, the armory key and the ritual storage key. There is only one set of doors I can't open. They are double doors off the main church area. When you frob them, they are very quiet. None of the keys work, including the lock picks. I don't remember if I actually opened anything with the ritual key, but I can't find anything locked other than those double doors anyway.
It's not helping either, that the first objective, getting into the cathedral, will not tick off. I've been through the cathedral many many times. What do I have to do to trigger this.

I checked and the first objective, at least on Expert, also includes finding the Sceptre, which you probably haven't if you don't recall the Ritual Storage room, so you may not have a problem just yet. To find it,
go into the chapel and face the altar. There's a door on back wall, to the left of the altar. Go through it, past the first door on the left, through the next door on the left and then through the door (or archway) to the left. Follow it around to the end and you'll be under the stairs. The Ritual Storage room is on your right.
The Armoury is way up on the highest indoor level. I believe you have to climb a ladder or something to get up there.
I think the double doors are only the front doors, though I'm not positive about that.

Thank you !
I'm a victim of my own psychology. That is, repeating the same steps, thereby making the same mistake continuously. I actually had visited the room with the safe that the ritual storgae key opened very early on, but it wasn't a part of my inspection tour once all the haunts were disposed of. As well, I was playing tired, so got frustrated easily.
All the objectives save one have now been triggered. I need to find gems to make the minimum requirement. I only need 75 to complete the FM. I hope not to have to post a follow-up to this thread. As a pre-emptive strike, you wouldn't have a loot list for this one too, would you?
Nightwalker on 26/9/2002 at 15:45
I've been guilty of that particular failing myself more than once. When you get tired and frustrated, it's easy to not realize that you're really going around in circles and overlooking something you would have seen otherwise.
I don't have a loot list made up for this one yet, though I do have all the loot recorded, so I should be able to help with the gem locations. Here's where to look:
Graveyard - There's a ring on the 3rd tombstone from the steps by the hanging man.
Go into the shed, down the ladder to the area with the spiders and there's a purse that has a partial value of 50g in gems.
In the basement, there's a bed that moves and behind it, there's a jewelled dagger, worth 50g. in gems.
There's 100g. in gems in a chest in one of the rooms farther up the hall from the one I just mentioned above.
There's a purse on a pew seat in the chapel that has a partial value of 25g. in gems.
That's it. It's rather too close, actually, on Expert and you have to find almost all of it to complete the loot objective. I hope that helps. :)

I met another problem in this FM,
I don't know how to make the scepter holy. I found the pool and the switch but I've got no idea how to put the scepter in the pool; it's undroppable.
Nightwalker on 26/9/2002 at 17:21
There are 2 switches, Preno. One is obvious and one is a little harder to find, though the first switch acts as a hint on how to find the second one. Once you've flipped both levers, just go to the pool and "use" the scepter, the same way you would a lockpick or key. :)

Many thanks.....I missed 2 of the places you mentioned, which put me over the minimum requirement. I don't have ALL the loot but enough to satisfy me.
Preno on 28/9/2002 at 15:27
Oops, I've almost forgotten to check this thread. Thanks, Nightwalker, I found the second switch and blessed the scepter, now it seems it was quite obvious.

I've just finished this one. Excellent! Thanks Dark Angel.
I don't really like the undead missions but this one I did enjoy. Nice atmosphere and I Ghosted it. That always works for me.
One thing of note on the statistics page which shows 1 pocket picked of 1! And there is only one pocket to pick on a patrolling Haunt with the Armory Key. This is the first time I've come across a Thief II mission, OM or FM, that showed the pockets picked correctly. Dark Angel knows the secret of this.
If you can hear me, Dark Angel, are you going to revise this from version 060 Beta?
Thanks again either way.

It's been a long time since I played that mission,
but I still remember how creepy the atmosphere was!
I would love to see a version 2!
