Did anyone else discover how to take down the ghost patroling the perimeter of the cathedral? I finally figured it out and it had a huge impact on the rest of the mission. :D

I've played around a bit with the Apparition like Hammerite that patrols outside the Cathedral. The only thing that seems to affect him is Holy Water. And after a couple or three of these he takes off inside and down into the basement and hides behind the wall with the special sword. I tried standing in the doorway to block him so I could get him some more with the Holy Water but he ran right through me.
What happens if you kill him, Norman Druart?

Holy water is the way to go but you have to be quick draw shooter in order to take him out before he runs away. If you do get him, it fulfills a Bonus Objective:
"The Hammers would no doubt be pleased and most likely pay you extra if you managed to stop the source of the hauntings." Plus when the ghost is destroyed, ALL of the haunts fall over dead. You still have to deal with the zombies though.
Has any one played Cathedral of the damed? I am short gem loot by 25. I am playing expert. THere must be more secrets that I am missing. I have been over and over the area but can't find any more loot. THe secrets I found were:
Under the bed and the secret door in the library.
.
Any suggestions ?

I played this great undead mission a while back and I was stuck a little short as well. I remember I had missed the
gem on the tombstone in the graveyard by the hanging man.
I can't remember off the top of my head about the secrets though. I am sure Nightwalker has a loot list and secrets file on that classic FM. Spooky ! Now that I think about it, there is a kinda well-hidden piece of loot in the area around back.
If you go all the way around back and go in a door - then see a spider and some bones - there is a piece of gold thereabouts I believe. ?
Well, happy hunting! :D

I finished this FM last night and what a mission it was!
I have the fog setting ON for T2, and seeing the full moon and the fog against the background of the cathedral as the demonic laughter of the fallen Hammer guards rang from within was a real ghoulish delight!
Many times after clearing an area, I just moved the mouse around and looked at the interior of the place, and let the atmosphere soak in, and I tip my hat to the creator of this mod for T2, and hope that he\she comes up with more demonic delights for us to explore and plunder someday. :thumb:
btw-after getting killed
outright a few times, I \
devised a new plan.
I make my way to one of the towers and get up the ladder to the top (usually with one or more guards chasing me,) then I use the Holy Water arrows at the 2 or more guards that are down below looking up at me.
And if that fails, a fire arrow will usually kill a guard weakened by Holy Water arrows.
If done right, 2 or 3 arrows can kill 2 guards at once if they are close enough to both get hit at the same time.
Also on the top level, there is an armory, and you will have to kill a guard to get the key from him, but once you have the key you an get 3 fire arrows and a few mines, and then you can REALLY let them have it. And in case the guard(s) do chase you, there's a ladder you can hang on until they go away.
Anyhow this is just to get you started, and there's quite a few suprises on the top level. Exploration is the best, but having a plan works great too. Good luck! :)

Does anyone know if this mission is going to be or is completed? I loaded up and got really excited, hoping for some late night fun. Then I read the read me and it says its a beta Documentation December, 2001 it says scripting, EAX, a few books modeling and briefing videos and cutscenes are not completed. Did this project go poof, or what?
Ottoj55 on 11/1/2005 at 02:29
i believe that is as complete as it is ever going to get, and its so scary, scripting sounds like an easy thing to finish, but some scripted events are complicated to finish if you don't know the original authors intent, the rest of the stuff like cutscenes are fully needed.
