That....was....AWESOME.:thumb:
Everything I expected from the sequel to the greatest spook-house FM of all time. The original was more like a horror based theme park ride where you just kind of slowly and methodically went through the rooms taking in the scares, and this is much in the same vein. Not really a whole lot in the actual "game play" department, but sneaking wasn't really the point of this mission (actually you run away more than anything, which is perfect). You did manage to throw in a few interesting puzzles but it was essentially just going from one scare to the next- and none of them disappointed. My personal highlights:
1: The ghost coming out of the painting and then the subsequent disappearing of the figure in the painting- awesome effect!
2: The ghost at the bar that throws goblets at you when you walk by. What an ass! Seriously, who haunts a bar just so they can throw s**t at anyone who walks through the door? This strongly supports my ghosts-are-assholes-with too-much-time-on-their-hands theory. Also, great effect once again! Same goes for the library with all the flying books. I both ooo-ed and aaah-ed.
3: The arguing paintings, and not just because it involved Keira Knightley, though that does get you points in my book.
4: The hallway full of statues that come to life right at the end. I saw it coming and it still got an "OH &*@%!!!" out of me.
5: ...Uh...you know what, EVERYTHING. The whole mission was a freaking highlight reel!
Also, if you're still interested in fixing up some bugs, I found a couple.
If you have the sword out when the doctor captures you, you keep it out in the following bit in the freezer, only you can't use it or put it away. Also every time when I was transported somewhere, Garrett just kept walking forward when he arrived in the new location, and it would take a whole lot of jumping and walking backwards to get him to stand still again. And finally, the first time I started to destroy the weak wall in the sewers, my entire computer froze and I got about a bjillion error messages. Yeah, that crash was pretty epic.
Fantastic mission though, tops even your previous horror mission "What Lies Below". Consider me a raving fan.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Congratulations on getting this one done :D
That new ending really surprised me  Dunno which is worse... stalking practice dummies or evil cackling medical practicioners . The flashbacks to the freezer were a good touch, too

Are you sure it just hangs up? You have to find a way out, check your objectives.
Look up top, the upper shelves, the ice, look closely. What is behind some of that ice. What can you do to get through it.I just get a black screen with a distant humming sound.

About that running bug: it's sufficient to hit the key of the direction, which you are currently running and the running will stop as soon as you release the key again.
I found another bug: after you've finished and try to reload a saved game (e.g. to go on for exploring), you'll end up frozen and cannot move at all. You'll have to restart Thief to workaround that.

a few more seeds would be useful though :(
The Watcher on 17/11/2008 at 13:21
I killed my seed after ~6 hours with no peers. I've restarted it, and will keep it there while there still appears to be activity.
Esme on 17/11/2008 at 13:54
thank you, you are a star :thumb:
I've now got around 40% and uploaded a little over 20%
--EDIT--
Got all of it uploaded a little over half, I'll leave it as a seed for an hour or so just in case there's anyone else wants it

Yandros, button Esc doesn't work in DromEd?
If you mean during certain cutscenes, not even in Dromed, no. I'm using TrapKillEvents to disable keyboard input during some of the cutscenes.

Cool Mission - very well done & thanks for it but -
I activated the portal and went back to the room to smash the mirror and this is now the only door that won't let me pass through it - so I'm guessing game over for me. Unless I'm missing something - I gots no place to go and have to restart...
You may have found a bug the testers missed;
did you alert the patrolling widows at some point after placing both portal stones? I'm guessing one of them may have wandered through the door searching for you and triggered the cutscene inside the room, which is the only way that door should have become solid. If you email me your save game I can send it back to you where you're inside the room so you can proceed.

The crash with the wall happened a couple of times during testing but I never figured it out. One of those things I guess.

Dunno which is worse... stalking practice dummies or evil cackling medical practicioners. The dummies aren't stalking you! They're supposed to represent something else, although it's maybe not-so-obvious.Quote Posted by Mechs Delight

I assume you hear Dr Lang's monologue and sounds of him carrying you to the freezer? If not, then try waiting - it's a long speech ( over 2.5 minutes) and at some point you should end up in the freezer, even if you can't hear the speech for some reason. If you are hearing the speech and the screen just stays black afterwards, it sounds like the scripts that are supposed to unfreeze you and remove the blackscreen didn't work. No one reported this in testing - you can try doing it again from a previous save. If it does it every time, or if you'd rather not try, feel free to email me the save game and I'll fix it for you. If you have a save from just before you trigger the blackout, please send it too so I can try to figure out what's going on.

The running bug several people have mentioned is a product of the scripts used that freeze you. The same thing happened when you respawned in Hammerite Deathmatch for the same reason. I've tried various ways to counteract it and nothing works.
Sorry about the other bug, I don't recall that being reported either.

Beautiful and scary mission, especially shadow world :)
Could someone tell me where is second gem stone? I read it is in spider area, but I could not find it. I found first stone in chest under the stair.
