What a great mission this is!!!:thumb: Very creepy and surprising :cool:
I just passed two portals, the last one in the throneroom.
Now what? I was "walked" through a lot of passages, jumped over the broken bridge and now I'm stuck.
I'm standing for this iron wall, with the "skully" painting on it, as in the throneroom, above the throne ....... I can't find a button or key to open this "door"?/wall?
Any hints?

This FM was very well made. :thumb: Everything seemed to work without any problems. I only had one problem though... not with the mission itself, but with myself playing it: Not once did my pulse rise or did I jump at anything that was intended to be scary. It's not the mission's fault or the fault of the authors, but with me being conditioned to the point where I'm not scared of anything in Thief. I still enjoyed the mission though. As a contrast, me telling a girl how I felt about her two days ago was scary. :o

Hint:
The "gateway" is not one of the large portals, like the ones you saw in the throne room and the sewers, it's something more ordinary. You'll know what it is when you get close to it.
Big hint:

First of all, I have to say, this FM is FANTASTIC:cheeky:
it's been a long time since I didn't play any FM and today I choose to started with this one, really impressive...and scared me a lot:eww:
I finished it in about 1.5 hours, but it's a shame that I have to read every post in this thread for a single hint - smashing the weak wall in sewer area with sword and get in hospital.I rarely used sword smashing against an object because it could be noisy.
for the most amusing moment::D
I like the arguing painting involved Keira Knightley, at first time I think the shot is all after me but soon I check out that poor portrait at the opposite, it's so funny in such a scary atmosphere.
and for the most cofusing moment::erm:
When that big sanguine words "KILL HIM" appeared on the wall, It tooks me centuries to made the decision - No, I'm not feel that guilty for killed him, I'm worried about some imagining consequence - Will he suddenly became a monster and turn against to me? Oops, I totally wrong, I saw the white lady but she just spoken to me kindly...almost.
Another reason for hesitate is that I always had a bad feeling about blood spell words on the wall...seems evil, should I believe that? Well I finally find out it's the only solution. At the earlier part of the mission when I triggered "Face Your Fear" (If I remembered correctly) on wall, I simply run past the haunt outside because that's obvious - I had no weapon at that point.
There are numerous brilliant ideas throughout the mission and I really enjoyed it:thumb:, Although I don't like Garrett end up in that mad doctor's hand, I'm looking forward to an alternative ending. Hmm...the dummies are still great.
At last, actually, I played DP1 before this one, that small mission's ending really terrified me and I wouldn't like to see it again. So I'm prepared for a same/advanced experiences in this one...I didn't screaming out or run away from my seat, but I felt my heart heavily frozen as if I've been trapped in that damned frige too.:sweat:

i just wanted to let you know i thoroughly enjoyed this FM..even though it spooked me so bad that i had to save after every corner i turned :p
but, i loved its uniqueness; usually theres just haunted hammerite cathedrals, but i enjoyed that this was a haunted mechanist environment :D
oh, and i have to tell you, the part that scared me the most was after i opened the gate in the sewer and followed that corridor...and suddenly this creepy ghost dude with wings runs past me
you succeeded in making me scream, paralyzing me, and giving me a near heart attack :eek:
so, i thank you very much for this nightmare-inducing fan mission :laff: :cheeky:
