I think I found some bug in this mission. Each time I place two gemstones in front of the portal the door leading to the room with the mirror become solid and all ghosts are gone from this place. (Few seconds after I place the second gemstone Garrett draws a sword automatically.) I tried loading earlier savegames. It is the same.
Is there a way to get rid of this bug? I am stuck. I'd like to finish this thrilling experience, but I do not feel like starting everything from the beginning right now.

Incidentally, I played this mission for the first time today too. Great! I found a pretty big bug, that would be invaluable in a speedrun, but I guess I'll come clean anyway. Before I SPOILERS AHOY MATEYS entered the portal of with the shadow keepers kept whining about, I just mantled on the supposedly hedged place, from which I could see that big evil woman from a centered perspective to the room. Hope you understood what I just said... so I jumped down, She spotted me, I evaded and the portal opened or I was automatically transformed (how could I remember?) to that place, behind the gates, with the egged froggly beasts, as if the shadow keeper fiasco never happened. Then I went further and... that's it.
I suddenly became sad about the ending. In a way it's one of the best endings ever, but one of those I will always (maybe...love? or...) hate. Sorry, Yandros, nothing personal!

Bukary: I'm sorry you've hit a bug like that. I don't recall it every happening during testing. If you email me your save game I will move you to the next stage of the mission, that's all I know to do.
Thor02: Wow, I understand what you said except for exactly where you managed to do that. Could you email me a screenshot so I can look into it? The orange swirling thingie should keep you from proceeding - it sounds like you mantled through one of the barred windows?
Thor on 27/10/2009 at 10:05
Sorry, a screenie would mean replaying, so you're stuck with an attempt of better description. Ok, so once I enter her mansion of whatever that is. I venture upstairs and justlook though the barred winow, as you call it. I see lady helena (ok, I know it's wrong, but I cn't seem to help but call her that way, I've been correcting myself too many times now) and I see her walking around in circles and circles... so anyway I mantle that window and I'm free to walk on that ledge, besides that it's barred. I suppose you can now be very proud to have understood my nonsense. :D

I understand just fine - I'll have to check those barred windows now to see which one (or maybe all) allow you to do that. I thought I had taken steps to prevent that. So you survived the fall down to the floor?

Sure, I was playing on Scare me (more HP), plus if I'd really have to save hp, I think I could simply AI land on her. I'm planning on replaying this one at least once a year. :) Though maybe on christmas, who knows.
By the way, what does Phantasmagoria mean, really?

Will had the second definition in mind when he named it. I think the ending we came up with fits it pretty well.

def creepy!
a pumpkin scarecrow zombie!!! that's a new one! (to me at least)
so far only part even a bit scary was sneakin past the haunts in the maze!
but like i said - good spooky atmosphere, at least as much as can be done in something as mundane as an old warehouse!
painting to painting killing! hahaha!

I replayed this one tonight - it's excellent.
Maybe because my english is not the best, maybe for some other reason, but I don't exactly understand the story. What is reality and what is dream? Talking with the friend in the pub is a dream or what?
Also, from the hospital-part, it's all a dream, like someone mentioned before?
If so - Garrett goes for a regular thieving to a warehouse, then after a few haunted twists, an evil doctor captures him?
