My take on the story of DP2 was that it was either -
(i) in a classic horror story twist, our (anti-) hero ends up coming to a sticky (sorry) end: akin to the ending of, e.g., the movie "The Wickerman", or more likely
(ii) the whole thing was a nightmare (& considering his choice of profession & some of the things he's experienced, he should be having a few of these!)

If so - Garrett goes for a regular thieving to a warehouse, then after a few haunted twists, an evil doctor captures him?

OK, I suppose after two years, it's finally time to start that thread where we talk about what the intended story was, and also what the original ending was which we changed, and a few other "did you notice..." kind of things. Some of the details are fuzzy, so let me read back through some old emails and posts in the test forum to refresh my memory, and I'll start a discussion thread in a few days. I think a few people may be surprised by some of it.

Sounds good! I've always considered you could interpret this FM, just like DP1, a little in your own way, but it would be great to read the authors' actual ideas about it.

Yes, the Jacob's Ladder/Bierce mention was closely tied to the story, but there's more. I'm busy tomorrow and Saturday, so it will be Sunday before I can get much done on the new discussion.
