I think you have to be at one particular side of a big crate, and then it becomes frobbable. If memory serves there was some loot at that side.

I tried standing on the purse next to the crate closest to the lock, but could not find anything to frob. Do you know if I should be looking at the base of the crate to frob the gear directly or am I looking at a specific part of the crate to frob?

Stand on the side of the big crate opposite the lock. Then the whole crate should be frobbable, and frobbing it will reveal the gear key.

I managed to get a little bit further last night, I tried playing in the dark but had to turn the TV on just to keep my sanity a room full of spawned haunts is not my idea of fun!!!

I'm replaying this with New Dark, and all of a sudden it's full of bugs: the torture scene in the warehouse doesn't play (only the sound, the npc's don't appear), and the big crate is no longer frobbable, so I can't go further into the mission :(

I'll look into both this and Deathmatch as soon as I can, but to me these don't sound like bugs with NewDark but instead with custom scripts, like NVScript. We'll get it sorted out. :D

Happy day! There was in fact a later release of Public script than I was using and it seems to work correctly.

This only contains updated script modules, named correctly for this mission. I recommend adding them to the mission ZIP (overwrite those in the ZIP already) and updating them in there before installing through Darkloader. If it doesn't work for you, please let me know. At some point soon I will update the mission completely for NewDark and will include the new scripts as well.

I ran into another problem even with the new scripts: after Garrett gets knocked out by the doctor, the game just hangs at that point and nothing happens. :(

Did you start a new game after updating the scripts? or load a save game? You probably need to restart. But I'll look into it anyway.
