What's up with the blood offering? I tried a couple of human corpses, some body parts of zombies that fell apart... Do you have to put them someplace special? Do I need to find a "genuflect" hotkey? Or am I supposed to drop them in a specific spot and then moonwalk to complete some unknown ritual? Maybe the bodies are the wrong key to this. Are there vials of Billy Bob and Angelina's blood somewhere that I need to placate this new god on the block? All I want is for the floating chest of drawers to do a four point landing somewhere I can reach. Anyone know what I should be doing here?
Great mission, pretty much fun. You want to kick yourself after trying too hard to do things you later realize aren't as hard as you thought!

DaffyTaffer -
There's a sacrificial dagger lying on the floor of the sanctuary amongst all the rubble. Take it out to that statue, stand on the plate in front of it and "use" the dagger. It will cut Garrett and a bit of blood will drop on the plate. Get out of the way afterwards so the Talisman doesn't bonk him on the head.
:cheeky:

I saw a reference to a panel that opens the square in the graveyard. I sure can't find that. Can someone let me know where that is? Apparently it is easy to find for everyone but me.

I had three questions, and this seemed to be telling me my message was too long. I think I read that wrong (same as all the scrolls I come across). Anyway:
That portal puzzle, I have probably dorked around for two hours thinking I can solve it. (I can't.) I thought the lower room with the symbols were showing me what the "opposites" were, but that sure didn't seem to help, unless I in the wrong room. A paper said to apply "opposites" to open the portal back up; it said to do this in the room where the portal eminates. I am shooting element arrows (as in a previous mission, I don't remember if it was the original game or a FM), but I am apparently doing this in the wrong place.
What about the room I can see from the dimly lit mossy wooden stairs. There is a slit in the wall. I can't seem to get back to where this place is. Any hint for that? Could someone come to my house and just play this in front of me? It would be faster and I am sure I would enjoy it just as much.
Top floor of tower. Room full of zombie wnches, and a portal on the far wall from the stairs. Use the opposite: Air the opposite is MOSS. Water - FIRE. Fire = WATER. Earth = Gas. Think of the portal as having four corners like the four compass points. You have enough arrows, or should, that you can experiment. Moss top left. Fire bottom bottom right. Water top right. Gas bottom left. and so on. Each arrow will remove one color from the portal. If a color dies you did that correctly. So do a QS, try your shots.
The graveyard.
with your back to the DOOR. Look across the graveyard to your left. Past the statue is a mausaleum. At the far right corner of that is a very small square pressure trap. Stand on it and it sinks. You need to get something heavy to hold it down. Try a couple of pieces of the rubble you took out of the wall behind the banner in the room at the back corner of the lower level.
What mossy stairs? As I recall there are four sets of stairs in the main ruins, and a series of flights up to the tower. I don't recall any of them being "mossy".
From the Talisman statues, a flight up takes you to the floor with the prayer rails and statues. The next flight takes you to a level with a statue of the goddess, and entry to a hall with two rooms. A dining room area, and a small office type. The next flight takes you to a level with a library, and the office of the high priest, and a small bedroom. The next to a maze of passages leading to the final floor at the top of the tower.
From the hallway leading to the lobby at the chapel, there is a window that looks into another hallway (East) that has a window looking out on the entrance grounds.

Well, thanks, the room in the graveyard was a funny distraction! As for the portal, nothing worked. I remembered an earlier post that said not to kill the zombies upstairs, so I went back to an earlier save and left them alive while I ducked and ran and shot arrows, I also roped to a ledge where I could shoot without being interrupted. I tried high, low, corners, middle of walls, shooting from the ledge, shooting from the floor, I couldn't turn off any lights. I had 38 water arrows, so after a while, I just shot those around (used them all twice) looking to turn off one light so as to give me a clue where I should be shooting. Guess I will have to give my Graduate Diploma back.
As for the stairs, I guess they aren't actually mossy, they are the wooden ones. And the slit I am referring to is visible on the last staircase on the way up to the portal. I can't see into it too well, it might be that statue on the level just below. That one is a small slit, the first one, on the level below, is much larger. I know I can see an open door back there. It appears to be someplace I haven't yet visited, but I am not sure.

If you have opened the gate and set the talismans, the zombies can all be killed. It is only in the early stages before you have opened the gate.
As you notice
as the zombies walk by the doors to the gated talimans opens. If you kill all the roaming zombies the doors lock and you can't get them open.
As for the arrows
you must shoot them in rotation North, South, East, West. and it matters not if the zombies on the top floor, or elsewhere are destroyed or not.
Nightwalker on 10/11/2003 at 18:00
I don't think it matters whether you kill all the zombies or not, Blackman. There's a key for those gates.
The haunt that walks through the house is wearing it.
theBlackman on 10/11/2003 at 18:17
I thought so, but I had a handful of keys, both from the inside haunt and (the red one) and another one or two and none would open that door after I did the little buggers in. Maybe I'm having a bad "key" day. LOL
I did find another way to solve that problem though.
if you sneak a crate out of the closet to the immediate left of the balcony, the one with the Zombie and the water arrows. You can use that to block the doors open. A Zombie walks by, the doors open, skid the crate in against the gate and the doors don't close.
Used the same technique with variations to rob the closet:
sneak in on the left. Frob a crate. Throw it into the hall. Snatch the arrows, and the note, open the chest and sneak back out when things calm down. The noise lures the Zombie out to search for you so you have a few seconds to get the goodies. Then a little lurk in the corner 'til all is calm and you sneak back out to continue ravaging the ruins.
I've got 1605 out of 1700 required to finish mission. Normally I'd just walk away from this, but the mission won't end unless I get the 1700. Now I've got all the difficult loot by way of reading past threads, so now I guess I'm missing something easy. Is there anything outside on the ground or something??
From past threads I know there isn't any loot in the secret passageway in the cemetary, but I still can't manage to squeeze through the opening. Could someone confirm that there is no loot in there?
I pretty much scoured the basement and all the rooms in the house, looking under rubble and the such, and I did accidently find (on my own:)) the cross on the roof ledge on the second floor.
Any suggestions?
