I am having a little trouble opening the portal! I found the secret room with the scroll that explains the directions for opening and closing the portal, I got to the top and I see the portal but I am confused as to what to do. The corners of the room have different colors and so I fire different arrows ( of opposite elements) at them and nothing happens? Am I doing something wrong???

Is there a way to kill the haunts without getting a "Lightning Soul" and a few new haunts?
Nightwalker on 15/12/2001 at 00:22
There is inside the house, but not outside. If you want to know how, look here:
Spoiler:
There are glowing statues in a few rooms. The most useful one, for me, was in the big sanctuary downstairs. Just lure the haunts and zombies in there and run them past the statue and watch what happens! (They have to get fairly close to the statue, not just in the room.) I had a lot of fun with this.

Thx for tip, it´s funny. Hehe...
But I couldn´t find the water, earth and air talisman. Ok, I think later I find something for Azraels grave...
But I think too, that the water talisman must be down in the guard quarters filled with water! But I only found some loot and arrows.
And how can I get to the cave on the graveyard? I shot every wall with an fire arrow but only some haunts are running to me.

Legion -
Spoiler:
The water talisman is down in the flooded quarters in the basement. You have to go into one room and find the key on a body, then use the key to open another locked room.
The earth talisman is in the graveyard in the cave blocked by a rockfall. There is a fire arrow sitting right in front of it, so it's easy to find. You need to go down into the basement, past the entrance to the flooded quarters, up to the far end, where there is a table with some things on it. In the water, beside the table, there is a flour can that you can pick up. It DOESN'T go into your inventory, so don't be fooled by that. It contains an explosive mixture. (There was a note upstairs somewhere telling you about it.) Place it in front of the rockfall and use the firearrow to explode it.
As for the air talisman, look in the main sanctuary for a sacrificial dagger. You know where to use it.

I used the dagger but nothing seems to happen. Where is the air?
Thx for help with the others; I didn´t saw the door down in the quarters...
Now I´m too tired. Good Night.

Stand on the plate in front of the statue and use the dagger. The talisman falls to earth. Occassionally, if you haven't moved out of the way, it bonks you on the head and bounces. I've had it land over by the cemetary gates a couple of times.

Sweet dreams!

So what's the deal with zombies and holy water? I doused one at close range and died - do they explode with force now?
I see what you mean about dreams - I wonder how long it will take to get the female zombie out of my head? First she politely asks if I'll kill her, then she apologises for attacking me, then she complains about not being able to breathe and wants me to kiss her (needless to say I didn't kiss her any more than I joined the THC haunts)

Yes, they do seem to explode like small bombs. I had that problem a couple of times with the trick I mentioned earlier.
Wynne did a great job on the zombie voices, didn't she? I loved it.
