Thank you! I saw him, I just didn't connect the two. Also, I thought I searched through every post but apparently I missed that spoiler too

*whimper* Help me! I'm having trouble with this mission, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to be able to complete it or not. I've taken *that* plunge, and ended up in Emilie's world. I'm in what was originally the house you started in at the beginning of the mission.
I know that I need flowers to give to a servant girl, I found her and have the flowers, but there's one tiny little problem -- the ungrateful hag won't do anything! :erm: I put the flowers in her bowl, and she just stands there. Maybe she's upset that I knocked out her friends in an effort to make sure I was supposed to give the flowers to her? From what I've read, she's supposed to unlock the door leading upstairs for me, and there's no other way up there. What do I do now?
Also, I'm having problems with the flamer. There's a fello running around with red eyes, a bone in his hand, and followed by a bouncing skull -- and he's after me. How the hell do I kill this guy? The sword is bouncing right off him, and now he just happens to be on the same table as the bowl I'm supposed to put the flowers in. I can see he has a key, and from what I read earlier, this may be an exit key of some sort? I ain't going to be pick-pocketing him, I tried crouching and walking up behind him when I saw him the last time, and he was on me like white on rice. His laughter is starting to bother my thieving buddy, (my cat) so I figured I'd better stop and run for help.
I'm really having a blast with this mission, and I gotta see how it ends. Any help would be really appreciated by this sleepy, clueless taffer. :)

You shouldn't have let
old red eyes see you! :ebil:
You may have done things in the wrong order. Check the section "Emilie's World" in (
http://thiefmissions.com/walkthroughs/EmilieVictor.html) the walkthrough and see if there is anything you have missed (like reading a scroll).

In a remarkable show of intelligence, it turns out I had a quicksave from directly before I snuck up on red eyes, it turns out I must've been trying to get close when he was fully alerted, except he never actually saw me. See, I have a habit of taunting my foes. I have a whole pack of guards at the top of the stairs, trying to run through the gate. There's gotta be 4-5 of them, all running and screaming. Red eyes must've heard them, and gone looking for me, but I managed to get his key in the end.
Unfortunately, the girl's still not giving me her key. It turned out I missed reading a scroll in the same room as her, but reading it didn't do me any favors. She still won't hand the key over. As far as I can tell, it was the only one I missed, so I'm at a loss. :(
Edit: since you mentioned I might've done things in the wrong order, I thought I better add that I haven't nabbed the key from Deloret's belt yet.
Did you reach the shadow environment yet where it is snowing? The fence that is talked about is located at the top of the big stairs in the house where your started but then in the shadow environment. This fence can also be opened by giving flowers to the girl in the kitchen. The flowers can be obtained in the room where you started the game. So don't blackjack the girl. After you gave her the flowers (put them in the bowl in front of her) she will open the gate for you so you don't have to climb the torches.
Is the "girl in the kitchen" the one who's always there or the nosey one walking around? (she's rather irritating. I've already re-started this one
(from Maurice's area)
after reading some posts about
not BJing all three guys in that upstairs room.
I'd really hate to have to do it all again, even though this is a wonderful FM, except for some logic problems :-
"Oh, by the way, you should have..."
Perhaps the objective : Don't Harm Any Civilians ?
Anyway, fascinating FM & thanx for any help.

Are you in the second part of the FM? The wintery part? I don't think the servant girl patrols in that one. They're both at the table, if my memory serves.
Sticky Fingers on 9/10/2006 at 15:13
Thanx for replying, Nightwalker, you're always helping out.
Actually, I meant in the 1st part. But it doesn't matter ; I went back about 20 mins & made sure I hadn't BJ'd any servants - & have now finished.
Brilliant & really entertaining FM! - great plot, design, layout & some of the best "extras" I've yet encountered. What a shame about that logic error -this should have been a 10 !!

Hello all, I'm trying to find The DeLor-, err, I mean DeLoret's suite so I can find acess to the monestary, but I have no idea where it is. I've looked all over the top floor of the mansion, but I haven't found anything. You'd think it would have been obvious to find, or maybe I'm just blind.
