If i understood well what you say and if my memories are good, it isn't important. Just take the key and make your way :)

I just finished this mission and thought it was fantastic(I also enjoyed L'Arsene). I found all the secrets with a little help but, was short 100 loot. I was wondering if there was any loot in the church with the guards in it? the one that you cross over on your way to DeLoret's meeting room? That is the only room I didn't enter. Well that and the bathroom with the guard on the toilet. Any loot in there?
I got the key from fire eyes by using the invisibility potion and then I ran away and climbed the vine that leads to a secret in the courtyard and hid in there until he went away. I tried using water arrows on him but, that didn't help. Is he DeLoret's double in Emilie's world]? If not; who is he? Does he have a name?
Great job Gaetane. I can't wait to play more of your FMs.

Fantastic campaign, Gaetane !
And it is so much fun replaying it. :thumb:
Looking forward to play the remaining missions and waiting for the 'Black Frog'. ;)
Too bad that DeLoret's Journal is obviously broken.
I had to
patch one readable in order to read the last page of DeLoret's journal.
There are two of them. One on the fireplace mantle in a small parlor upstairs with three people standing around. Another, also upstairs, in a bedroom near the previously mentioned parlor with a man and a woman. I've only ever used the bedroom one so the other may be a ruse. Anyhow, a guy comes along quickly and places a golden wine bottle on the little table. I had a bad time finding this very same bell in GATI.
Luck!
Ok, I searched both of these places and didn't find
a bell
anywhere and it's driving me mad! Where the hell is it?? Can someone please please tell me exactly where it is? I'm playing on expert, if that makes a difference.
Never mind. As it turns out, I didn't need
to ring some bell anyway. . dunno why it wasn't there, but I found the bottle of wine myself
and a closer look in my inventory proved that. Upon first glance it just looked like part of my loot, but I had
the wine bottle all along.
New problem: I need to steal the key off DeLoret's belt--that is my last objective, but I don't know how to get to him. I suspect it's up through the church rafters, because I can see an opening up there, but I don't know how to get up. People have talked about roping up there, but I don't see how this is possible since all the rafters are made of stone! How do I get up there?
EDIT: Oh, I didn't know there was a (
http://thiefmissions.com/walkthroughs/EmilieVictor.html) walkthrough. Nevermind, again! :D

I looked at the walkthrough and it says to place the doll by the tombstone and the gate would open, but it's not. I know the walkthrough is for expert, is it different for Hard?
Thanks
