It ends for me near that gate at the beginning when I drop Catherine. I was playing on normal.

"Return to your starting point" and "Take Catherine with you" suggested going back to the crates nearby and carrying Catherine. I did not think of ignoring (sort of) both of these suggestions at the same time.

i should make 4 wax impressions of keys, but i haven't found any key till yet.

I remember when I first played it I too was in front of the gate, holding catherine and thinking "why doesn´t it end?!" It was by coinsidence that I dropped her (my intent was to run around see if I´m at the wrong place) and suddenly the mission ended after all :D
