oh yeah, duh.
It's set up exactly the same way as a standard four digit code. There's actually an odometer hidden in the wall! All you do is put in an 8-digit code instead of a 4-digit one and Thief will recognise it.

I had no idea - I thought you were limited to 4 digits. I guess that's only if you're actually using the odometer to show the current value, duh.

A very fine mission indeed, nicked.:) I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I like the atmosphere, architecture, the puzzles, and the mummies. That eight switch door was a piece of work.:eek:
I have completed all objectives in Expert but only have 2/4 secrets and 2015 loot. Going back to find more. I have a couple of questions.
1. I find a long room with two small ramps at one end and a body with a green tunic on a ledge. At the opposite end of that room, I see a wall with hieroglyphics on it.[SPOILER]Above that wall I see a room beyond with rafters and chandelers. How do I get in there, or is that an obvious place I may have already been? I don't remember the chandeliers.[/SPOILER]
2. There is a room with a horizontal pyramidal indentation in the wall.[SPOILER]I go in the indentation and flip a switch. I cannot see what has happened. What is the deal with that?[/SPOILER]

About your first question: if I correctly understand your description of that area then the room you see is the one with the five levers on the pillars.

When I heave the remains [SPOILER]in the lava section of the Chamber of Kings,[/SPOILER] this objective doesn't tick off. I've restarted the game and loaded a previous save n o effect. I tried restarting the Computer, to no effect.

I am not sure if this matters, but did you put the remains into the lava? Lean over and drop.

I went through so many cliched options like Curse of the Mummy's Tomb etc.
I'm still not 100% happy with it but at least it doesn't sound like a dodgy Hammer Horror now! :laff:
