i gotta be missing some scripts for GYY somehow then (because the other FM's are not having that no text problem)...... is GL really not that great in comparison?......does using the uninstaller for T2x still leave stuff behind?
- As I understand it, you can get different problems in different FMs, yet they
can be caused by the same overall problem(s) - but you'll need someone with more tech no-how than me to analyze the various problems you're having with different FMs.
- Both DL & GL are excellent programs - but DL is
generally regarded as better for T1 / TG / T2 missions than the currently available GL, whilst GL is necessary for playing T3 FMs. Then again, potterr's working on a range of fixes for GL, so who knows?
- The FAQ section of the T2X forum says the uninstaller is all that's needed ((
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96688#6) here), but I seem to remember people sometimes finding that insufficient for a full clean-up: have been searching a bit, but can't find where I've seen this :erm:
Hope this helps :)

Just for the record, I rarely have any problems with GL and I have no problems running GYY with GL.

You do seem to have a lot problems. I don't know whether you do or not but it is highly recommended that after playing an fm and before closing DL or GL, you install the OM again. This is supposed to remove the fm installations. Sometimes it doesn't work properly in which case you can do it manually and there are instructions in the FAQ in this forum under 'Clean up of files'.

i just went from one fm to the next, okay - i will do that from now on, once i am back to loader FMs! :o
(am in T2x at the moment!)

:) I said it's highly recommended not mandatory. Some people can play fms for years and years without doing that and without problems. And then one day . . .
But others never have problems and others get them more frequently. I did with DL and now always install the OM. I don't really know whether these problems occur in GL to the same extent.

LOL! :cheeky: Sorry, I was only trying to save you some time since it didn't seem that the problem could be with GL. Hope you get it all sorted.
