Excellent work, Yandros. I think i've spent 4 hours on this so far!
While trying to get a closer look at your automated status wall in the beginning room, I
picked up what I assume to be the secret weapon, accidently (I think it was invisible?). However, it wasn't named "Staff of Yandros" like clearing's (
http://darkfate.ru/index.cgi?thumbs=files/fan-missions/Thief2/Hammerite_Deathmatch/screenshots/dump008) screenshot. It was named "just for fun", I think. Are they two different weapons? Perhaps I have a different version than clearing.
Nonetheless, I'm in awe with how you and NV flexed the Dark Engine so. I got 99 kills in the "last man standing" mode, with the help of the "just for fun" weapon, can anybody top that? :)

Sweet Heavens Quincy! That was some lucky find! I don't know if Yandros intended for anyone to find it. It seems to me to be a supercharged version of the secret weapon and things certainly get ludicrous once you have it. (so far my best kill-rating is 77).
On another note I had a strange occurance of my own when playing this morning. One of the AI in my mission seems to have dissappeared. According to the statscreen FreddyFox had 11/12 lives still remaining after everybody else had been killed off (which is in itself curious), and after going through ever part of the level twice (and activating the green spawn point) there was still no trace of him.
Oh and one more little nagging bother. On the first level people killed by traps don't seem to get added to my kill score, which is annoying because I can't tell how many people I've massacared from camping in the control room.

I wound up doing everything except test this mission while it was in testing, (I still feel guilty about that!) but I do remember that sometimes, an AI would just disappear, never to be found again. I don't think Yandros ever figured out what was causing it, but I could be wrong?

Do you have a save with a vanished AI?
It might be helpful to open it in DromEd and see what happened to him - and then maybe Yandros could set up something to stop it happening again.
Yandros on 21/11/2007 at 11:47
Yep, I doubt he really vanished, but probably is tucked away in some corner of a room quietly staring at the wall BlairWitch-style, we saw that a number of times during testing and it's probably just the occasional pathfinding SNAFU. If there really is no Freddy, then that would mean he failed to respawn, which to my knowledge was never seen in testing.
As for the hidden "Just For Fun" staff in the start room, I left that in on purpose as a super-secret extra easter egg, and you should consider using it as cheating at least with regards to any claims about final stats. I'd also appreciate it if you guys would spoiler those parts of your posts so others will have to find it the hard way. :D

My bad! I'm new at this forum, and new to the spoiler feature. Post edited!

Though it definately isn't my kind of miss....I mean Thief mod Its a sound innovative idea that I am sure many will ...I mean have enjoyed and will continue to do so. :thumb:
I think it is important for FM authors to come up with new things and keep this community alive. This reminded me of the origional Unreal and Quake multiplayer.

What a hack-fest.
First time Deathmatch on expert, I won with the next highest being Moghedian at 17. Nightwalker had 0. Should I infer anything from this? Moghedian was also the last AI in LMS.
Good to know that my bladework is up to par. The circle strafing technique, learned in Doom about 15 years ago, defeats all video games!
