I have a problem - How to connect a "bloody ashes" and the crystal water?

Frob the vial of
blood ash in your inventory.

The Builder, whose law it is
that he who learns must suffer.
And even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget
falls drop by drop upon the heart,
and in our own despite, against our will,
comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of Karras.
Praise be to Karras... and the Builder.

A tip is to read the
Doctor's diary again.
Yup, it makes more sense to me now.

Yes and no: there are two ways back up there, one each for your body and mind.Well, I know where that place is located in relation to the bridge over the lava below.
Mind is probably about the code urgrue talked about (how I´ve been reached the place this far), so body...are you implying that it's possible to simply climb up there? (okay, I suppose a crate staircase or flare elevatoring could do it...)Quote Posted by qolelis
Yes.
There is a way to deal with them, but you might regret it later if you're not careful about whose feelings you're hurting. Also, take a closer look at them:
do they perhaps differ from one another?
Alright, I'll be
nice to them. ;)Oh, and
at least one of them sounds female.Quote Posted by urgrue
If you can see
neither tears nor a vessel, then look elsewhere.
My interpretation was that
the heart in the sky is the vessel and the two water-filled rooms are the tears. They are the closest match to the description I've seen.

I meant the large cave with the
many bridges and teleporters, because in that one you can travel between the bridges in two ways (at least after you have
gotten the code right), but maybe you were rather talking about the even larger cave with only two
(perpendicular) bridges and a large "shelf" at one end (containing stuff you might not have seen yet) and lava at the very bottom. In the latter case, there is only one way in (
unless you decide to "abuse the engine" :p ).

There are things you haven't seen yet, but when you do, I think you will understand.

Remember the cave where you found the green dewdrop? The three corpses: left middle, right; who do you think they were?

I am talking about this place:
In order to return there
legally, you have to re-solve
the puzzle with the teleporting doors. AFAICT, there are
five ways to solve it (there could be more?) and if you're careful you can do
all five without taking damage. You only need one, of course, and the first one starts
at the beginning.

Thanks for the clarification.
I now know one sequence that works. I reloaded my old save where I was in that cave,
moved through the doorway and looked at the symbols in the air. Made some progress in the Heart Realm now. Turns out I
had already (sort of) tried
a gem button sequence that works, but I had been facing a quarter of a turn wrong.
Other than some
Dewdrop-o-rama and frobbing the heart in the sky, I don't really see what I have accomplished in here. The doors are still locked. I thought that maybe something on the island or in the other cave system would have changed, but I can't see any changes.

Spoiler request. I had found the pirate treasure map early in the game, but somehow lost it - I must have used a saved game taken before finding it. I have scoured the entire first island and cannot find it at all. It was in a small barred window opening and I think near the sewers, but I cannot find anything like that now. Will someone please give me an outright spoiler on this one - the location of the treasure map? I'm out of places to look and know it must be something I am running past over and over. Thanks!
Overall, I like the game, but it is very non-linear and for anyone that is used to typical FMs, it will be a hard challenge. I find a few of the puzzles a bit obtuse, such as the numbers and camera safe code puzzle. Why confuse matters with the 9574 code in the book, then place numbers on the zombie's head? Yes, I figured it all out in the end, but had to read through some hints first. I've made it to the second island, but I am now restarting on an earlier save to find the pirate treasure first, before "punting" over to that island.
As my call sign and nature dictates, I've got a lot of knocked out people around. However, there is a guard that seems stuck in the walls near the torcher chambers. He is a green sword guy. He is not the sleeping dude either. I can make him appear if I set off the alarm, but otherwise he is just roaming around. I can hear him, but never see him. Weird.
There's lots to do in this game. It is very challenging. I have about 6 game hours into it so far, and who knows how many real time hours. When I get frustrated, I just let it rest a day or two, then come back to it. It is refreshing to have this challenge, even if it can be tedious at times. :cheeky:

Although you did get something out of it, right!? Plus a small bonus.About the doors:
Without telling you too much, there are other ways of dealing with them, but don't spend too much time thinking about it.
