What do these do? Or, what are they used for, if anything?
* Thick Rags
* Putty Knife
* Brace & Bit (Hand drill)
* Beeswax
* Trickster's Breath
Other questions to follow, but these should suffice.
2 and 5 I asked the author .. He said: "You'll know when you need the former. The latter is for you to figure out."
I did not find! :(

I have mapped out the red caves and ramps, and have deduced that the alien alpha-numerics are just numbers in disguise. I have teleported back and forth and round and round, with nothing to show for it. I also managed to put a different symbol into each of the placeholders, but apparently, this wasn't the magic combination.
A straightforward spoiler would help me get this walkthrough finished. The fun factor is gone.

If you know what symbol represents what number, you can try going through doors in this sequence I have written on a note here on my desk. I
think (not 100% sure) it is the teleporting doors combo:
1-2-5-4-3Hand drill can be used to
make a peeping hole in something you have been inside.I haven't found any specific use for the other four items.
BTW, I have a lootlist if you want it, but it's still missing 15 loot. I can't find it even with the help of TTLL, because the sums do not add up and there are confusing extra amulets that do not count, etc.

I can locate the missing loot but you'll need to send me a savegame--the very last save you made. EMAIL
We must be interpreting the symbols differently. Code did not work.

E-mail sent. The code was correct. I just tested it. I've tried to be more specific/clear in the e-mail.
If you're making a walkthrough, know that there are at least 5 different possible endings in this mission. ;)

I've experienced something weird::sweat:
Whenever I enter the white dewdrop area in the "Heart Realm" my screen goes uniform blank white and I am totally immobilized (cannot move even blindly). While looking at it from the outside it looks all normal (bright, but normal), both from above where the haunt is, and from the long hallway below...
I wonder if this is a bug, or do I have to solve another hidden puzzle before going there (one can never be sure in this mission...)?:confused:
I play on normal, and I haven't encountered any other apparent glitch (I've completed all the regular objectives and several optional ones, got about 5600 loot and 11/14 secrets up to now).

Another puzzle I've spent a lot of time on. The scroll in the room is full of esoteric horse hockey about the Builder's balance and strength, etc. From this drivel we're supposed to deduce some kind of pattern and "draw" it on the wall with the gems. I like meat and potatoes. What's the bottom line?

Not quite sure what you mean here. If you have seen the
haunt in the room above the room you're talking about, haven't you passed through it already? Please explain further. But first ...
... have you tried
turning the gamma level all the way down before entering said place?

You are supposed to find a clue to this not from that scroll, but from somewhere else. Borin wrote about this.
