I played all three difficulties and nearly have all the objectives checked. Still cannot finish cause I didn't find
a way to open the secret exit. I KNOW it's the strange bookshelf underneath the watcher in the library. But once more I seem to be blind, cause I looked the library up and down and didn't find any switch :o .
Any hints - possibly something tangible???
dirtholdman,
the switc for that is very nearby just keeping poking your head into the nooks and crammys and you should find it, not sure how else i can put it without givingit away. btw this is for normal difficulty.

Near the stairs, rope arrow up and 'use' the painting of a child dressed in red. The bookshelf will then open for you.
You guys are going to confuse him, you're talking about different difficulties! The switch to open the secret passage in the Lord's library is different on each difficulty...
Here's major spoilage on the location of the secret passage switch for each difficulty - only look if you're desperate!
Before spoiling it, try reading the note on the desk in Captain Horath's room first for a clue...
Normal - A lever on the side of the bookcase directly opposite the watcher (at the foot of the stairs)... specifically, the right end of the leftmost bookcase.
Hard - A lever on the back of the desk on the landing of the staircase. Look at the back of the desk as you're coming up from the downstairs area.
Expert - What Avallon said - rope arrow up so you can frob the painting of the red-suited child.

Am I the only fool around here who can't find the written blackmail proof? I've got all the keys and covered the house, as far as I can tell anyways. I'm playing on Expert level. Any tips/outright spoilers would be much appreciated! :cheeky:

Thanks Yandros. As I already mentioned in other threads, I urgently need some switch-finding goggles. BTW, it was rather naughty of you to
not only place items differently in the various difficulties but also to apply minor changes in the readables. I really overread the different last paragraph of the captain's scroll :tsktsk:
Now that I finished it on all 3 difficulties, I can't say else than THANKS FOR THIS GREAT MISSION. May the Hogfather hang ENORMOUS socks full of stuff on your fireplace :thumb:

dirtyoldman: I only mention this because you have indicated a couple of times that you are having problems finding switches. Do you know the trick about having a scroll or something in your inventory while searching for switches? That way whether it's a hidden frob or not the item in your inventory shrinks when you frob something.

Well Ive gotta hand it to you on this one, great mission. Ive played on Expert but will be playing the other difficulties soon. Fantastic house, great placement of guards, cameras and switches. My favorite kind of thifing, is when there is a small clue, that helps you solve a problem and there were a good amount of them in this mission. Made me feel that much smarter when I figured em out ;) Definitly smell another mission out of this one as well, something to do with a certain Ruby im guessing :cheeky: We can only hope eh, Well time for me to play it again :thumb:
