Thanks, Nightwalker. :) I actually found that on my own about 15 minutes later.
Got into the vault. That was fun. :thumb:
One problem that's been eatin' at me for the past hour:
I'm in the Hammer temple, and I've covered a lot of ground, and I'm in a room with a Watcher, and two bots, one big, one small. In the middle is a large metal thing with a lever on it. I have tried multiple times trying to hide and outrun the Watcher's eye to a dark spot in the back of the area, but halfway it's too bright and I get caught every time; timing the rotations to sprint to the metal thing kills me.
There are double doors behind it, too. Lockpicks don't work, neither do Acolyte/Security keys. I'm guessing the lever does the job?
Also looking for the Priest's key.
I like this mission! Gives me a run for my bandwidth! Whee! :p

I think that the big machine is just a drilling machine, if you're where I think you are. In the underground area, right? The double doors are down a short ramp (or stairs, I don't recall) from that room? There's a room elsewhere that has a shut-off switch for the Watcher. Look for a ladder to an upper room and you'll find an old rusty key there that will open those doors.

Got the keys, got the optional objective, my loot list is good, but still no room with a switch for the Watcher. I'm going back above ground, maybe I'll get lucky later on if I return.
There's a room on a 2nd level opposite the Watcher, it's open on both sides, but the 'switch' there is not frobbable.
I'm off! :)

Ok, I'm after a little help here (currently playing the mission on Expert, but that isn't where I'm stuck - so avoid spoilers for that if possible).
Played through on normal (as I tend to prefer missions, unfortunately that rather renders half this download a waste), but quite a bit of loot short, and missing a secret (I have no idea about what the first was either, I didn't find anything very secret that I'm aware of).
I also cannot find a gear to open the vault (I presume it must exist having been placed there on this difficulty in the room below).
Thanks in advance.
Nightwalker on 22/8/2005 at 20:40
The gear, on Normal, is in a secret hiding place in one of the bedrooms on the upper level of the big library (Guest Quarters section of the map). Once you get into the vault, you'll find quite a bit more loot. If you're still short after that, I have a loot list that I can send you. As for the missing secret, since you haven't found the one the gear is concealed in then the one you found must have been a gold wine bottle tucked in behind some plain bottles in a storage room off of one of the kitchens.

Cheers, off to look for it.
That must have been the only bookcase I didn't have a good look round, spent a lot of time around those in the library
Still 150 loot short, although that doesn't bother me too much - less than 10% to go, and explored the map is fine.

And another question - now on expert and I'm missing yet one more secret. I presume two are the same as in normal (which I've found), together with one more. I presume this is where you have to rope up through a hole in the Hammerite temple, but missing the fourth.
One interesting area I can see, but not reach is in the sewers in the round area next to the one with the ladder, that appears to have a room up there, is is acessible?
Nightwalker on 25/8/2005 at 20:13
The fourth secret is a gold goblet that is sitting beside one of the coffins in the tombs. I'm not sure about the location of the room you're talking about in the sewers. I'll try to find time later on to take a look and see if I can remember if there's a way in there or not.
Edit: Okay, I had a look and I see what you mean but as far as I know, there's no way up there.

I am completely lost. I have not been able to find my way into the vault. I also have not been able to find the rusty key. I know where it is, but I have no idea where in the room it is. I have turned off the magnetic locks as well, which I guess will let me get into the vault. I am playing on hard if taht makes any difference.
I've played this one before, and finished it, I just have no idea how I did it.
Nightwalker on 23/1/2006 at 15:04
This mission is quite different on each difficulty. I don't believe the "rusty key" is available on Hard. I think it's only on Expert, though it's been a long time since I've played so I can't be sure. The way into the Vault is different on each setting too. On Hard you need to take the elevator that you find in the room patrolled by the little bot down to the storage room full of big boxes and then go down one more level to a cave. There's a lever on a console you can flip that will turn off a magnetic field which is a blue forcefield that will block you from the lower door into the Vault, which is the way in on this setting.
Ride the elevator back up to the room with the big boxes (not the one with the little bot.) and go through the door at the far end. The first door on the right leads into a workroom and off of it is the vault door. You'll need a silver cog to get in. Have you found it yet?
