Shadowhide: visit the Fortune Teller and check his crystal ball...
Shadowcrawler on 6/9/2010 at 17:59
I have this problem on Vista. Mission 1 ran fine. I installed the OMs, then another fm and played that using DL, no issues.
Switched back to the OMs and installed another fm and played in GL, no issues.
I have the generic theif2.exe / appcrash that comes up each time. Anyone else having this issue?

I've given up on this mission. Like so many others, it's become tedious and boring. I'm just running in circles in this huge mansion and haven't found anything new, not even a new readable or anything else that hints at what I'm supposed to do or where to go. Not even a new locked door, which is too bad cause I've got several keys and have no idea where they are used.
I'm pretty sure I've broken the game as well since I couldn't solve the chess board to open the chest and I threw all the chess pieces on the floor.
Mission 1 was fun for awhile, but after a few hours it became the same, especially with all the problems it has with the bank and the pipe puzzle.
I even tried playing HoC 1 before this one but it just crashes as soon as it starts.
Time to move on.

I messed up the checktable and went on .....:grr: do I need to get back to that point, or can I leave it out?
I dont know what to use at the two highlighted spot next to a double door.
I don't understand the number on the cristal ball. Please spell it out to me :angel:

Awesome !
I love this vast mansions. Although I have problems figuring out how to get from A to B, too.
CaptSyn,
I think the trick is to have some schema on how to deal with big complicated missions.
Take notes about interesting or important locations where you still have some ToDo's.
Always turn right until you end up in places you have been before and track back.
Do one area
thouroughly and THEN proceed to the next.
Otherwise it just won't work - and even then one may miss an important thing that makes the mission going again.
You can even use the map inside the game to take notes & point out important areas.
Which means you can EDIT within the map.

Gloria, as for the checkboard: if you have
the red key-card from mission 1 you can skip it. If not: not sure if you NEED to do this. *Maybe* you can still stealth through
the secure places. Not sure.
For the second one: did you find some big
gems ?
#3: Activate the ball and watch the wall. Ignore the 'Keeper'-symbols, but make sure to take note of the
three numbers beside them.
Sterlino, thanks for this one !
Indeed, you are "Still alive" and better then ever !!!
Is it indended to make the loot move over from mission 1?
I completed this one with 15697/15963 on Expert.
Some people in this thread say they completed with 3500 or 6000,
but since I started mission 2 with 8277 already, my loot-objective (7000) was checked off
right away after picking up the first piece of loot.

Gloria, look to more walls (3 walls) - left, right, up. You can easily see three numbers.

Gloria, I owe you one! Outright spoiler:
147
Sterlino, just finished mission 2. Absolutely Fabulous! Lost count of how many ways I tried to deal with the Dragon's Claw guard on the little balcony. The bastard, every time I thought he was dead, he struggled to his feet and pulled the alarm.
Great mission. Full of secrets, interesting, worked faultlessley for me. Thank you again.

One place I found one was
exit through the top balcony and jump to your right...it is hidden amongst some debris.
