T2 FM: Insanity's Crescendo (6 May 2010) - Updated to v1.2, 22 Aug 2010 - by Haplo

Thanks, Haplo, for an interesting and exciting three evenings. A nice challenge and lots of fun to play. I finished on expert, missing quite a bit of loot (13228 / 19872) and missing most secrets (1/7). Now that all the AI are cleared out I can hunt for secrets at my leisure.
I had a little issue with the labyrinth. The five clues did not work for me, so I devised a method that did not require any clues. In keeping with your request not to reveal spoilers, I will not explain it without your permission. I will explain it to you if you send me a PM. :)

Interesting, PM sent!

Ok, I think I'm right screwed on this one... I read in another post about Using the wet sponge on the coal pile -- which I had already been trying and it just disappears from my inventory and there's nothing to pick up. It's just GONE... Which is why I spent the past hour trying the wet sponge on damned near everything else after reloading from a save before coming here to check.
Can I assume it's buggered?

It looks like your NVScripts are not working either (Windows 7?).
When you read the note about the Fire Gem on the noticeboard in the guards´area in the basement, do you get a new objective? Or when you put the bottle on the tray, does Benny leave the room?
deathshadow on 12/7/2010 at 06:38
Yes, Yes and Yes... Windows 7, Benny worked just fine, so did the notice.
Though I just went back to the notice and frobbed it again and it said "new objectives" -- without adding any (I already had both the gem and the other one and they were checked off)... I then went back and tried the sponge again and it works...
Ok, back to playing. Hopefully no other bugs like this will crop up.

Great mission, loved the Warlock boss. I liked the music from the menu and would like to know what is the name of the song. It should have been included in the scroll in the room with the big purse, the boss music was mentioned but why not the menu song?

Glad you liked the mission!
The name of the song is mentioned in the mission text file. It is a song by the German band Angel Dust, it is called Bleed.

hay
Just finished this wicked FM.
Got 14724 loot
12 of 12 pockets picked
4 of seven secrets
stole plant of life (used the teleport)
found the big bag of creds and now I`m way too rich:)
all but captain Knockout bonus
Took me ages to work out how to get into the room with four credit containers from the tunnel where the single container is, Kept walking past the exit door up top wondering how do I get in then I thought It must be like the water cylinder teleport exit above the door at the den. Very cunning:thumb:
Think I`ll see if I can find more money (you can never really be to rich can you?)
PS. Like I wrote above this is a wickedly good romp in the thief universe loved it and only had to look at the spoilers to find the method of getting the scroll from the 2 gate 1 switch room (then I used the two crumpled papers witch was all I had ha) :thumb:

Excellent mission: some mansion gameplay, plenty of adventure game puzzley fun, and an interesting story. Course the mission would have taken me ages without the walkthrough, so thanks bunches ffox.
Oh I noticed where there are only 7 gold plates above the "dresser" in the kitchen. I'm guessing it either was too close to the brush to get rendered or it got pushed into the solid brush by something. In anycase, I'm considering myself having total loot with the corresponding loot bonus objective.
Haplo on 18/7/2010 at 17:36
Actually that seems to be a mistake in the lootlist. There are indeed 7 plates there, worth 500 loot. You are missing a piece somewhere else!
