Ditto on the glass room. It was so tricky and fun to get to, I was really hoping for some loot or secret as a reward. :( Fun smashing all the glass, though. :)

The link to the walkthrough only seems to take me to the main page. When I click on the walkthrough link at the bottom of the page, it just reloads the main page. Is it just me? (I haven't actually played the mission yet, so I don't want to read it, just bookmark it to refer people to later on.)
I'm looking forward to playing your lovely mission, though, as soon as I have time. :)

Now I need to start pulling my hair out. :p
I fixed the link. Sorry about that.

The Fire Eater
Sorry about this late reply. I remember you asking about the ring lost in the river. It is
as far south as you can go in the river next to a metal lever.
How on earth did anyone get the ring under the stairs in the police kitchen? I tried for way too long, but could never get in... Also, were the elevator buttons in the pawn shop supposed to hover like that? :weird: As for the Thieves, I BJd the one on the ground, lost several hp trying to get onto the pipe w/o falling, and just jumped across the rooftops. He didnt notice until it was too late :sly: A tip for the future, though: make sure the liveries (those fancy colored tunics) of all the guards match, and that those match their 'KOd body' graphic for the bottom of the screen

use a crate to get into the opening under the stairs. The pipes are a little tricky, but if you walk toward the one outside from the catwalk you can jump while walking. If you run you'll most likely overshoot it and fall down.
As far as the guards is concerned, well I was more concerned about not having the same guard everywhere, and the images at the bottom I have no control over. I've noticed that Thief puts a lady with a green dress when I carry a lady with a red dress. :joke:

I just finished it on expert. You asked for comments, John, so here goes.:)
I thought it was a very good map and lots of fun. It kept me busy for three nights and 6 hours of game play. A lot of that, however, was spent nose-to-the-ground and everywhere else looking for keys. Two of the keys I found, the Armory and Master, were invisible even when you were on top of them - evidently under the visible surface. You had to blind frob to get them. That's just too difficult. Also, the loot was very hard to find. I think there is not enough margin for the expert requirement of 2000. I finished the mission initially with 2026, or thereabouts. I combed the area for hours, and I got only 2259 / 2539 in the end, and that was after reading the loot list and the hints in this thread.
I also found getting into the auxilliary holding cells to be quite tricky.
I wasted a great deal of time trying to make that jump over the gap in the catwalk without success. I don't know how the others did it. In retrospect, that was evidently a false lead. That being the case, I think the gap should have been wider, so it was obviously impossible to jump and not a waste of time. The route I finally took was to jump over to the roof of the building from upper catwalk. That also took some hunting and thinking. All those locked doors, inaccessible even with the Master key, were a little frustrating.
All in all, though, I thought it was a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to your next effort. :)

John - excellent mission. My frustation factor was a little high in the begining of the mission but as I got a taste for your style I found this to be a VERY injoyable mission.
I haven't checked the walk-through for an answer to this question yet. I'm going the easy route and posting it here.
How do I get down to the area with the spider and the crystal that you can look down onto through a grate behind those water tower looking things with the catwalks?
EDITED: Nevermind :cheeky: :o I followed my ears a little better this time.
All you have to do is post the question and the answer will magically occur to you.

Thank you for your comments. They are very well taken. I learned a lot on my first mission. Its difficult to make a mission and remember that the players don't know everything like the designer does. Now that I have learned this, my next mission which should be out soon will be a lot easier to play. Maybe not less challenging, but at least you will be able to see every item that needs or can be picked up. btw I have done a lot of searching in the blind frob way. Yes it is difficult, but if you have another object selected in the right hand corner it will shrink when you highlight or have focus on an object. In my next mission this won't be a problem.
When I made the catwalk I tried jumping hundreds of times to make sure that it could not be crossed. Your right that I should have made it clear that it could not be crossed, but in design time I just dropped one of the cat walk segments to the ground along with the braces. Here I have learned to think about every aspect of the design. The only thing that the expert mode would do is do the health limit. The loot requirement is the same for all. In my next mission there will be all three difficulty settings.
For the aux holding cells,
just drop down to the lower cat walk from the upper cat walk.
I appreciate your comments and thank you for playing my mission.
