Great job!

sexypat and prjames:
Although there are two ways I know (and probably more I don't know) to get into the auxillary cells, I originally used the much more difficult route:
1 (easier method) hint: If you look at the metal catwalks, you might notice another building that has access to them (which you should have a key to after visiting the police station).
2 (much harder method, to be used only by idiots like me, or those curious enough to try it) hint: Drop down onto the catwalk from the roof (requires 1 rope arrow, a good jump, and careful ledgewalking)
Let me know if you'd like more details. :)

bassmanret is right, IIRC the master key will open the top entrance to the anxiliary cells. This FM forces you to enter buildings by taking indirect routes, in this case the master key will open the top door but not the bottom dorr of the building. :erg: Personally i used a firearrow. :)

Ok, I finished the mission.
A specific comment and a general comment for the author:
In general, the mission was very challenging (which is great) but it seemed to stretch the limits of "believeability" at times (if you were running a
police station
or say, a
pawnshop
, would you put the hidden loot where you did - or some of the passageways where you did)?
Yes, Garrett always lives in an apartment that can only be reached by sneaking through a condemned house - that's how he stays one step ahead of the cops!
Basically, this mission seems to go for maximum challenge and puzzle-solving rather than believability, IMHO.
The specific comment:
In the pawnshop, I could see two small rings and a gem ring in the display case that I hadn't previously gotten, but they were very difficult to frob. You have to move around very slowly back and forth endlessly while on top of the "display case" to get them. It took me 15 minutes to frob these items, and frobbing these items was necessary for me to get my 2000 loot objective (or at least, the easiest way to get to 2000).
But it was a challenging mission, kept me busy for many hours, and was a lot of fun! :D

Fire Eater
Thanks a bunch for your comments.
I used a single flash bomb to KO all three of the guards you meet at the beginning.

As far as the catwalk near the AUX Holding Cells, I intentionally made it so that you could not jump across the missing piece. I don't know how you did it before. :P Anyway when you get the master key you can enter the two-story building where the uppermost catwalk comes out and jump down from that catwalk to the lower one. There is a health potion in that same building in case your health is too low to survive the jump.
I was able to enter the police front gate area three different ways.
Push a barrel to the area near the flames and jump up, or stack two crates near the fence on either far side of the guard buildings, or put one crate under the window of the guard building and jump on the crate & crawl in.
I will let you use your intuition as what to do before and after you go inside the fenced-in area.
With the thieves you can KO the first one, and if you can
find your way up to the catwalk and across to the next building, notice the pipe above you, then drop a flashbomb before jumping onto the small roof.

From this same elevated advantage you can also use the gas arrow found in the water tank building and shoot it directly inbetween the two guards at Bafford's.
You can use a
gas mine on the nose guard. There is no other way to take him out.
:)

Sir Lance,
FIrst I must appologize to you and everyone else. The metal door in the water pump station should have been frob inert. Sorry about that.
As far as the back door at Bafford's, its really odd that you can't open it. I can use the master key as well as Bafford's office key. There really is no reason to open it unless you want a quick way to go back to see if you missed something before.

Thanks for your help but I meant the metal door undercover after you have opened the porticulis. It still won't open and as for
the door opposite the back exit to Lord Bafford's I've tries the master key and lockpicks on it again but still they don't work.
Thanks Gloria :) Actually you can now save a fortune on hair cuts. :P
Next time I will frob inert unaccessible doors. Sorry about that.
As far as the keys not fitting, well they are looking for another locksmith. Remember the old guy was jailed.
I put a loot list on my web site at (
http://www.geocities.com/john9818a/thief2.html)
and soon I will have a walkthrough.
Thanks for playing my mission and for your nice comments. Actually everyone here has inspired me to start my next mission soon. :ebil:

Sexypat,
There is another way. Actually I updated the level so that players can't get on the roof in the beginning. Apparently everyone has been able to do so, and it wasn't intended to be that way. I still have a lot to learn.

thanks but it doesn't help me much ...
someone said there was a important key up there so how did others managed to get there?

Thanks for your comments prjames. A lot of people had problems with the loot in the pawn shop. I changed the frob distance, which of course doesn't help anyone who already downloaded the mission, but now is much easier. I guess it wasn't realistic or believeable at times, but I just wanted it to be entertaining. hehe. I wanted to be a little unconventional.

Hi Fire Eater,
I don't think you need my commend anymore but still: at teh Thieve's house: I BJd the guard on the ground, then shot a rope arrow on the side of the shedroof. I climbed up, standing in the dark and shot a noise arrow into the room right onto the left wall. The thief went looking for me in the room and THAN you must move quickly. Run after him, use you BJ before he can turn around and hit the other person in the room also. Mission accomplished.
At the policestation: go inside and immediately hide a bit on the right of the room. Wait till the walking guard is on the other end of the garden. Crawl and BJ the guard nearest to the right guardroom. Run immediately around the corner en let all the now alerted guards do there job. They'll stop searching for you after a while. I shot a fire arrow towards the right searchmachine in front of the frontdoor to disable it. Than I crawled towards the cellardoors of the policestation where I got in. A guard followed me, so I run and after two corridors, he gave up and returned. I immedialtely went back after him and before he could climb outside I wacked him around his ears.
He still must have a headache because I was so triggered and tensed after this whole ordeal, that I hit him twice.
Your comments made me realize that I've become a good Garretlike Thief and THAT makes me very proud. So thank you for that.;)
