Awesome mission I really liked it. Mission completed in a little above 3 hours with 5514 loot and 5 secrets. I really liked platforming challenges and most of enemies has some pickpockets. There is a lot of different passages, so it's a lot to explore and many ways to get into one place. I only had slowdown once and for short time. Other than problems you mentioned, I noticed minor problem with destroyable wooden planks. Some of them instead of shattering will just vanish. Also some switches opening vault are turned upside down or to the side. Is it intentional? I had blast with this mission, so good job for your first time.
Also I had no idea that Mat99 died this year.

Mat99 is alive and well -It was just some fun teasing from PersonneThief. Did you locate the other toombstones?
Oh, I see, this tombstone totally tricked me. And no, I only found this tombstone.

I've noticed that neither the health potion(s) or food does not increase your health, by design or bug? - playing on expert.

The highest difficulty is called "Challenge" and it's meant to be for hard core ghosters or other folks who want an extreme challenge. If you want the usual "Expert" experience you should play on the middle difficulty.

This is one seriously classy mission, everything from the industrial NecroAge look of the mission, the mantling challenges, the confusing layout, the readables, loot hidden everywhere and sometimes in very well hidden areas, tight patrols making it a real challenge pick pocketing some purses. I guess Personne is a big fan of Dr K, Firemage and other similar authors. Hugely impressed and don't want to finish it.
One question I'm at the top of the very high elevator shaft having climbed all the way to the top from the mines and can't find a way out, apart from going back down to the level where there is a no KO Mechanist standing in the doorway leading to the bedrooms. Is there another way out of this elevator or do I have to take the Mech on.

I took a more frontal approach and persuaded the guard to cross a conveniently placed gas mine, and exited the way you came in.
From a stealth perspective your approach sounds better. That guard has a purse, and coming up behind him to grab it, then just leaving him there and heading back sounds like the best plan. It's a bit of a trek, but at least that guard is 'dealt with'.

That's what I did in the end, gassed the bugger. But before I did that I may have found a game critical bug, he saw me and came running forwards and oops over the edge of the platform and all the way to the bottom of the shaft, he didn't drown on this occasion but I suspect he could, and that would cause you to fail the mission on expert.

A guard just dying probably won't cause a mission fail. If you were to knock him out and throw him in the water, then it would fail. For example in Calendra's Legacy, some undead appear and kill most of the guards in the city, but this doesn't cause mission fail.
