There is no lantern. In-game gamma works fine for me using Thief 1.22. Are you saying that in-game gamma adjustment has no effect whatsoever? In that case, I guess you have something wrong with your NewDark installation. How do other NewDark FM's respond? If in-game gamma has some effect but not enough, then monitor or monitor control panel could boost it.
I have found in this area video card drivers make all the difference.

Just finished and I thoroughly enjoyed this FM, I usually sway away from plagued city type missions but yours was just too enticing not to play and the reward was well worth it.
Thank you Eternauta!! Also at the end when you frob the bed and the flies form around yourself.. I guess that means its all over for your character? I didn't get the potion solution that the journals mentioned but I wonder if I had that the ending would have been different

Is there anything special I have to do/give to 'Freezy John'?
Thank you Eternauta for this lovely FM . Had a lot of fun playing such an intelligent mission.

I really had good time with this one. I barely used the map, thanks to memorable layout. I liked the hiding spots in mansions and throughout the city, alternate routes and how you eliminated backtracking, that was good idea. Using loot as means to an end is another one. Disappearing keys is a great way to avoid clunky inventory. I only wish there was a sort of message when I pick up stuff from chests, so I don't go through inventory to check what I got. Different types of sound assigned to item category (quest/gold/ammo) helped a bit. All in all, good sense of pace, focus on observation and exploration - that's what I like most.

Thanks to all!

Playing on easypeasy the first time through. The house just east of the arrow workshop with big brown double doors and a very colorful corpse (one hand is yellow). Can't find this flare but the candle under the chair/table glows red. What am I missing?

You're not missing anything. There's not a flare.
That person/area is part of an objective on higher difficulty levels. Only plague victims' houses have flares and you'll recognize them because of the flies around the body.

Thank you Dark Garrett for a speedy answer. When I finish on 'easy', I will graduate to a harder level.
