Does the bartender give me the package or do I have to find it?
After speaking to him, nothing has been added to my inventory.

If you haven't yet rescued Timmy, you'll have to do that first. If you've already done that, the "package" is the footlocker right there on the floor of the inn.

Oh! Vandal was one of the best quasi-recent missions, so this is good, good news! Congratulations, Balboa!

I have just downloaded the mission but it crashes when I start it. I can see the Intro but when I start the game it crashes.
Same here except the game won't even let me see the intro before it crashes. What do I do? :(

Big crash for me here as well. I click "New Game" and Thief 2 crashes right to desktop.
I'll have a look and see if ffdshow will help.
EDIT: Downloading the latest version (in my case, 2010-15-11) worked.

Great mission, no crash here on Windows 7.

I got the crash on Vista 32-bit when I click on New Game but I saw cattamer's suggestion to try
ffdshow.
I downloaded and installed (
http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/download.php) ffdshow beta7 codecs from sourceforge.net (they support the DivX codecs mentioned in the mission narrative) and I could then see the movies OK and no crash!
