I 've noticed many people asked 'bout l'Arsène : is it just a name...?
For french-speaking people and just a bit literated or serial-tv fans, it means a lot.
In the beginning of the 20th c, a french writer (Maurice Leblanc) created a character named "Arsène Lupin". He was a gentleman,... and a burglar who never shed blood and who disguised himself.
The work was adapted (& rewritten) for T.V broadcast (french-speakin' Tvs only I think) and it lasted for years...
Hope it enlightens your path to curiosity.
End of my "ethnic" explanation
And good luck for the translator(s), some of the words, phrases used in this FM are very "french", if you need some help, just contact me...

Lady Jo on 7/9/2002 at 17:32
Arsène Lupin a été incarné aussi en France ( was also interpreted in France by ) par Robert Lamoureux et Georges Descrières :)

Lady Jo,
Awsome mission! I love it.
I took French in High School, German in college, Russian, and Vietnamese in the service. What I remember of my French would fit in a thimble. But, I'm muddling through it. One of the things I love about this game, and this forum is the global popularity of it. The cultural comparisons, and off topic discussions are far more interesting than the game itself. We have FM authors (and players) here from France, Spain, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Russia, Czech, Hungary, Poland, Japan, Canada, Australia, U.K., and USA. (Did I miss anybody?)
Something odd though. One would think that French players would like it all in French. The voices are in English, the scripts are all in French. Do most French people understand spoken English that well, or should the French version include French voices as well?
Perhaps when our translators start working on this, there should be an all French version, and an all English version.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this wonderful FM, and releasing it for our little global community to enjoy.
