Haven't found Arsene yet. Where is he??

ukjeeper: Have you been through the small gate next to "Chez Serge" and have you met the Admiral? I think you can't find l'Arsene before that. Then you'll find a letter, that will tell you, where l'Arsene is.
squirell: sorry to hear that! I downloaded it not long ago and it worked fine, so I have no idea, what can be the problem. I hope you found a way to play it, since it is a very good mission :thumb:

The admiral fell in the pool, never touched him honest!! ;)
If you mean the letter telling how the admiral wants to be friends, don't remember seeing anything about finding arsene.

Squirrel, try this...I doubt it'll work but it's worth a shot. Right click on the zip file of L'Arsene and look for the boxes that designate 'Read only', 'Archive' and 'Hidden'...Uncheck them all. THEN try running it. Sometimes this has helped me. Aside from that, just try re-downloading it because that's an odd problem...
UKJeeper- I can't quite remember where L'Arsene is from the Admiral even though I just played this last week...I was stuck in there for a long time...I can give a few spoilers that may help though...Only use these right before tearing your hair out! This is a great mission to just explore completely! I added some help on getting to the admiral for future help for anyone.
Getting To Admiral:
Near Chez Whatever is a gate that leads to the abandoned district. Use a crate to help you get into the apartment window for loot. Next, follow the logical route until you meet somebody not nice. You'll soon get to the Admiral.
Leaving The Admiral's Area
This chamber had me flabbergasted...You can climb up the rocks a ways away from the pool. When you get to the hall above the spider jail look for a trigger on the far wall. It'll be about eye level to you. Shoot an arrow at it and it'll raise the gate near the pool. Make sure you look around for stuff before leaving!
It should be relatively straight forward from here...but if not,
L'Arsene is
in the hotel that has 2 guards out front. It's easiest to get in by hopping up on the wall left of the hotel. Near the end you can enter via an obscured bathroom window. The locked door upstairs hides L'Arsene somewhere beyond. You need to get the key from the Fireside Thief after escaping the Admiral's chamber. I can't re,member exactly how you get to the thief from the Admiral but I know it wasn't too hard. I'm sure the answer is in here somewhere!
:)

ukjeeper: oh, sorry, my description was very confusing. No I mean the letter, that you find
in the room with the thief, next to the room with the man in the cage. I think you reach these rooms after leaving the Admiral area, but I can be wrong. The letter tells you, that l'Arsene waits in the house Ponterbee describes
I must be daft because I can't find the
tower where Le Pouilloux lives. I've been through the police station. Climbed up and stole the purse from the prostitute. Am I in the right section of town? I really wish there was some sort of map!
Yes you are when you first come down off the balcony from the police station to your right there is a spot there with a large barrel, its very dark but there is a ladder right behind it, that will take you up to the tower, just a hint bring a box with you, you'll need it. :thumb:

theBishop: Yes, some of the links in these old threads no longer work. When you are searching for a mission, just go to (
http://thiefmissions.com/) Cheap Thief Missions. Pretty much every mission available can be found there.

I want to say thank you to Ponterbee and Maloo for the help. Thanks to Ponterbee, I was finally able to run this FM, which I am enjoying very much. :D Thanks, Maloo, for the extra hint about Le Pouilloux! :thumb:
